I installed the Far Cry demo on my I6000. When I play it, te first second plays fine (all I do is drop down into a boat) then it freezes. If I minimize the game there's some critical message with three options (i forget the first, the second os send mail, and the third is abort. What's the problem?

I cant tell you for sure what the problem is without seeing the error message, but my first remedy would be to re-install the game, if that doesn't work, post again.

so that means that your system gets locked when you begin to play. There are two remedies:

1)I would go on the ubisoft.com website and see if anyone else has the same problem you do and see what they did to correct it

2)You video card may not be supported by the game itself. This is rare, but certainly a possibility.

Ya, DMB, you have the integrated 900 don't you? That might be the problem, but you did say you can play HL2 before didn't you?

Yeah, I have GMA900 graphics. My laptop can run HL2 and Doom 3; not that well, but they run. I think something's up. There have been problems with the last two games I installed. Neither Act of War nor Far Cry will run.

I will either sell the laptop I have now on ebay this summer or my mom might buy it from me. I'm hoping to get a Dell I6000d eventually.

Cool, Far Cry runs fine now and I didn't change anything. I actually get playable frame rates too.
