    Far cry 1 install problem

    i have farcry 1 and i want to install it on my sager 5793 running vista 64. the game boot up screen comes on and ask for the install, so after click and waiting a few minutes i get an error messege that says

    "run setup 32.exe bit windows or runsetup 64 exe on 64 bit windows."
    i have looked in the files on the cd and can not find a 64 exe even though the jewel case say amd 64 on the back cover. anyone have this problem and how to fix it.????????????

    i think it cannot run on vista64. may be other users can confirm this.

    I think you need a patch for 64-bit...Crytek released one back in the day as there was a marketing partnership with AMD, as Athlons were the only 64 bit processors then.

    Works fine on Vista x64 out of the box for me. The latest patch is for the 32 bit version but there is a patch if you want to enjoy the 64 bit version of the game. I stress its not a requirement there is something else wrong.
