Hey guys I notice many having a hard time getting a decent download rate. I searched around and found a place that is fast. I downloaded mine at 550k/sec and it was mine in no time (though this was 5:00am EST)

I went to public servers and picked Washington DC one, best of luck :)

Oh and I ran it 800x600 on med-low and it played quite smoothly, better than I expected considering my system. (in signature)

I started downloading it last night. Had to pause it cause my dad told me to go to bed (so he pressed the stand-by button on the modem  ). I haven't played FEAR at all so I'm hoping that this will get me into buying the game.

Edit: Crap, my download speed keeps dropping to 0.0 kb/sec.

Just want to make sure that you dont need the FEAR cd to play this? It's going to take ages to d/l and dont want 1.8Gb of worthless junk at the end :)

24 hours? We're talking about FEAR combat 1.7GB right...? It took me 3 hours on a regular 2mb connection....

    I used Ausgamers. Great speeds.

    Yup.

All the sites I tried fileshack/fileplanet/gamespot/3dgamers/etc, had really slow speeds of 50kb - 125kbps. Even though I have a 1.5mbps connection.

I used Ausgamers - was afraid every server on the globe would be choked up seeing how popular the file is but got a fairly steady 220kb/s the entire time. :)
