If you like good games in general you gotta try this.
It's out in steam and developers website for about $9
There is plenty of coverage but just in case,
it's a little roguish spaceship sim where you try to survive by managing crew members, ship's energy resources, weapons etc.
A full game shouldn't take more than 2 hours and you'll die a lot.
Highly recommended.

Snagged a copy off steam this afternoon, gotta say its really fun! Wasn't sure what to expect but its better than I thought it was going to be. I'm still very early in gameplay but would echo the comments above.... thanks for the heads up +1

Liked what I saw in the trailer!
But I'd rather have this game on my phone. Same with gratuitous space battles.

Though I think it's about 2 people that made this game so it may be a while if it happens. -
I'm still getting this game though, to support the developers.

Its a pretty solid rogue-like-esque game. Very fun for just a bit of pick up and play. Still haven't beaten that bloody last boss though.
Also for those who don't know about it Star Command is also looking to be a pretty solid little game for iOS, Android, PC, and Mac. Check out the trailer:

I barely beat it on easy. My ship had two hitpoints left and all but one of the crew was dead. I had to spam burst lasers to overwhelm the shields and destroy the weapons stations.

It's a very entertaining game indeed. I could only beat it on easy as well and it took me quite a few tries, so it is quite hard in general. Also unlocking all ships and layouts for them will take plenty of time (if you don't get bored of it sooner).
I agree though that this is really the type of game that is quite simple and a tablet could handle it perfectly, so I'd appreciate if the devs made an Android version later on. -

Still loving this game... and I still can't beat it even on easy! It's so dang addicting though! My last play through ended with an epic Rebel/Pirate battle in only the third world.... was completely overwhelmed by 4 boarders and a missile that would pierce my hull and unload an attack droid in the room each hit... my poor little crew never stood a chance but they sure fought hard to the bitter end. RIP
and now to try again! -
I love this game, I bought it about a month ago and it's definetely worth the money. I refuse to play on easy so I've only ever made it as far as the final battle (where I was quickly destroyed) but I plan to keep trying for a long time to come.

oh well, yes now to try again! -
and another fight and another loss ha... Made it to end of 7 with the Engi ship, but man those automated rebel ships get mighty hard at that point! Got tangled up in a fight with hull down to 2.... one missle and BAM... had a full crew, was looking and feeling good but I was wrong!
EDIT: And tried again, made it to level 8, and the second final battle... and it proved too much! Sheesh! -
Finally got to the boss with the Engi layout A. barely survived first round (like, 1hp left on hull) and promptly crushed in round 2. Still fun, though!
4 ships unlocked - but still having fun! -
Looks pretty interesting. I'll have to give it a try sometime.

WOOHOO finally beat it on easy! Had a good run, last fight was tough but not too bad... very fun game
