What are your favorite games give a couple and rate them 1-10
-
Final Fantasy IX (PSX) - 10/10
This is honestly my favorite game of all time, an emotionally involved story that many can relate to. Loving someone without being sure if they love you back, or if you're even worthy of them.. Being outcast and lonely and trying to figure out just why you're here in this world. It has a cast of characters that almost anyone can relate to.. I really love this game and the ending CG still brings tears to my eyes of it being all over again... -
i would have to say that my top games are:
Halo 1 and 2 8/10
Warcraft 3 (custom games are the best) 7/10
The Ghost Recon Series (Island Thunder great) 7/10
oh and im a fan of mini golf -
I'm still having a good time with Jump Start 1st Grade. I give it a 9 out of 10, just because of the level of challenge it offers.

Oh my gosh FEAR is by far the scariest thing in the whole world. Me and a couple GUY friends played through the demo and we were all about to piss our pants and there was about five guys in the room so it would be one of those times where you try to look manly and not be scared by something and we were all like screaming like little babies at every turn. Then we played through it again and saw some stuff we didnt see before and were even more scared.

I can't belive no one has mentioned U.S. Navy Fighters Gold....this was a kick @ss (but now outdated) flight sim. It had everything!! Night and day carrier landings, VTOL aircraft, in-depth mission assignments...SWEET!
Although, here are a few of my other favs:
Excite Bike = CLASSIC
Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Gran Tourismo, the series
Halo 2
HL 2
BF2 -

X-Com: UFO Defense for the win. 10 out of 10.
One of the only games that I still fire up once a year or so, that can consume as much playing time as when I first tried it.
There's that giddy feeling you get after you obtain and research a Blaster Launcher. Alien crash site, alien near a farmhouse; target and fire, watch the alien, the farmhouse, the hull to the crashed ship, 2 aliens in the ship, not to mention the 4 soldiers you thought were far from the blast radius, all go up in a mushroom cloud of fire and smoke. -
It would probably not be as good if I tried it now but as a kid I used to really like Kid Icarus on the NES.
-
I love FFXI as well, forgot to mention that. Just FFIX is my favorite game, period.
-
reize, what server are you on? im on valefor.
pb,out. -
I told you before, I'm on Titan =P
-
also like to add
Zombies Ate My Neighbors! 10
Super Punch Out - 9
Mega Man series - 8
pb,out. -
For me, Zelda-Link to the Past 9/10, and all Hitman series 8/10
I am not a gamer, but I play some games occasionally -
I think one of the most addiciting games and im sorry that no one has thought of it. is Starcraft. That is a classic every time i play there is something i want to try. Two favorite things in the game. Actually three. 1)Having a line of seige tank defense so strong that any zerg army within range is imediatly turned into manure by about 50 tanks at one time. 2) A fleet of carriers hidden by an arbiter or recalled into the middle of their base, such unexpected decimation. 3) drop ship three ghosts in range of their base, call down three nukes, dropship three ghosts out, no more base.
ok and another favorite is having one of the originally made untis make it until the end of the game and their kill count is well into the 100's
SWEET -
80's... Super Mario Brothers, Pacman
90's... Megaman Series, FF3 (or 6 depending on where you're from) Plus a bunch of SNES games... those rocked...
Late 90's... Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft.... Talk about replay value
Recent... Mmmm... Half-Life:CS Halo, Doom3, OblivionRowr
1. Tank Defence... Send in the Crabs!
2. Carrier/Arb... Lock down the Arbiter, Drop an Emp, Call in the Goliaths and watch them burn
3. Ghosts? wow... Kudos to you if you can pull off nukes -
Red Alert 2, Rise of Nations: Thrones & Patriots, Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, Counter-Strike 1.6 and I guess thats all I like for now.
Im much into strategy games -
There's no such thing as a long game if you've never played an MMORPG.
-
.
-
Well... I was quoting the Starcraft game he placed
Any strat game that takes more than an hour to play is way too long.
as for MMO's... well... that's right... no such thing as a long game... heck... a few years back I was MUDding for 12-15 hours a day -
Try an MMORPG, I've got over 3000 hours clocked on FFXI.
-
To much time...thats 125 days...Like 1/3 of a year...My god man...
-
I've been playing it since December 2003.
-
-
I've clocked 130 days. It's been 838 days since then.
So about 15% of my time was spent on there, I sleep only 6 hours a night, so I'm up about 15,084 hours since then, and then around 3000 hours. So only about 1/5th of my time. -
What a mission...
-
And then you count the times I've fallen asleep at it, and left it on selling things and it's about... Only 1/7th of my time so...
-
oh that wasnt in one game
Wow... Long Game there
1. Tank Defence... Send in the Crabs!
2. Carrier/Arb... Lock down the Arbiter, Drop an Emp, Call in the Goliaths and watch them burn
3. Ghosts? wow... Kudos to you if you can pull off nukes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. just becuase i have alot of tanks doesnt mean i have no air defence. Wraiths and the turrets are there to so the crabs would just have to take it from my wraiths
2. IF the ghost got close enough to lock down the arbiter and if you managed to drop an emp before the whole base was leveled the other arbiter back in my base would just recall my fleet home safe.
3. nukes arent that hard if you can create a substantial distraction.
cheers -
Hello, I'm new...just wanted to mention one game that isn't even out yet...
Zelda: Twilight Princess
I'm still waiting for this game. Too bad it comes out near Novemer. -
Star Control 2 -10/10!
-Top of my list, definite classic, too bad Accolade ruined the series after
X-Com - 10/10!
-Yet another classic... a modern version would be AWESOME
Freelancer - 9/10
-Gorgeous game, good story... deserves a sequel... the space sim/action genre has been sorely lacking
Dune 2 - 9/10
-The one that started it all! Instantly addicted back in the day... was all confused when a nearly identical game called Warcraft came out soon after
Elder Scrolls: Morrowind - 9/10
-I love RPGs... and when I played Morrowind it blew me away... took RPGing to a whole new level. Gorgeous graphics, huge gameworld, amazing attention to detail... just got my hands on Oblivion so bye bye life!
Civilization 1 - 9/10
-Ah yes, the original... this also sucked away countless hours of my life
There's too many others to list, but these are among my most favourite -
I'd have to rank mine by how much of my life they consumed.
1. Counter-Strike
2. Dark Age of Camelot
3. Battlefield 1942
Oh and Reize, I see you are in WV. What area? I work in Charleston and live in Teays Valley. -
i play alot of games and i dont really see what CS is so popular. the times i have played it, it seemed slow and outdated by other more advanced games. is there something i am missing?
Thank you all for your posts on games.
Im about to make a major investment in a latop and im still kinda fuzzy on what games i should buy. if you know anything recent that is worthy of recognition it would help.
thanks -
OK, I'll show my age (rated by how much time I spent playing):
Dune (the original) - 8
Terminator - 6
Civilization III - 5
Total Annihilation (deserved better than extincton) - 9
Age of Conquers - 9
Empire Earth - 6
Quake (various versions) - 3
Rise of Nations - 9
Doom 1 - 8
Doom 3 - 6 -
Jamie, CS appeals to me so much because of it's realism (relative to other games of course). Simple, direct objectives. Team vs team play (which was really quite new when CS came out). Also, CS can be a completely different game when you are playing with a fairly organized group of friends and are utilizying voice chat. If you've ever played any of the Battlefield games, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Plus, veteran CS players know the maps and weapons *intimately*, and it's fun playing at something you really know. I know I'm rambling, but the other thing I like is the extreamly steep learning curve of CS. You can play for a year and still really be learning the game. The dated graphics have never bothered me a bit. I still like the original better than Source.

Thats cool but i have played alot of Halo 2 online with xbox. how is it better than that. i know most of it is opinion but there has to be something about it if it proclaimed as such a great game by so many people. it just seems a little plain to me, like the gameplay. whereas halo has lots of different weapons options and strategies. i dont see that in CS. thanks for the reply.
