this applies to both fear...and mutilplayer demo etc....

My cousin has a p4 hyperthread 3.0ghz pc with 1gb ram and agpx800 pro graphics card...which for its day was the real deal hehe....

he was playing fear mutilplayer whilst using xfire but for some reason the performance was so bad that he had to drop his resolution down to 800x600 jus to get it playable and even then he couldnt  now i know that the x800pro is an old graphics but it can still handle its own...well enough to play games at least at 1024x768 res

this was xfire related because as soon as he turned xfire off he could put it back up to 1024x768 and play fine...and even use msn messenger and playing...

so i did some googling on xfire and fear and came across this

this seemed to do the trick and it worked for him...he could put it back up to 1024x768...did it for myself and noticed that the frame rates had improved...so jus a shout thought id share it with everyone that plays fear mutliplayer and also uses xfire

    Sunny :)

    Thanks for the info. :)

If you didn't have that fix, I would have asked how much RAM does your cousin have in that computer. Usually slow performance while multiple programs are open = not enough RAM.

yeah would have thought it to be the ram but i found it strange that we were using msn messenger which is more demanding...and it was running smoother....

so i thought its gotta be xfire...and thankfully with google you can pretty much find anything...that also has something for those that have a logitech g5 and those playing fear...

thanks sunjhoon - that bug was killing me until i realised that I just have to disable xfire support in fear.

now this fixes the whole thing.
