ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan

I doubt Tekken 6 will ever see a PC release; however, Street Fighter 4 is coming out for PC.
-
And that is all you need to have. SF>any other fighter ever made. -

whats mame for?

-
It's a program that emulates arcade games. Legal to download the emulator, illegal to have the game ROMs unless you own the actual arcade cabinet.

okay thanx for info, as stated could we please keep to legal games please. shame tekken 6 wont come
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
as stated MAME is legal, all emulators are.
No sense in letting classic games you cant find anymore vanish into dust. Do the developers a favor and keep them alive. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
but i dont want to break the law while at uni.

Ha, ok not a problem.
I'll be in the room next door playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Killer Instinct 2, and some MVC2 while you deal with what ever PC releases are out there.
There is a big difference between stealing because you dont want to buy a game/program and then porting a game over because its not possible to own it and time has left it behind. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
no there isnt, its still stealing

Samurai Shodown 2 is really old but it's classic, the PC version is **** near impossible to find at retail now.
Locally I can buy 10 years of the King of Fighters series of games for the PC, I've never figured out whether what's sold is a special type of port or specifically configured for the PC. -
Try to find some place that lets you order Japanese games online. I enjoy the occasional round of "Gleam of Force".
Dunno where you'd find them outside of Japan though. Himeya soft imports some, but the best place to pick these games up is to go to certain stores in Akihabara.
edit::Remembered the name of the store I usuaully go to. Sanoh Messe. The stock rotates almost weekly, with various smaller production PC fighting/shooter/rpgs flying off the shelf. They also have a regular stock of the touhou series, which I love(danmaku at it's best), and a massive selection of fan made adaptations of game music. -

I'm actually part of the fighting game community. There are a bunch of fighters like: Melty Blood, Guilty Gear XX #Reload, Eternal Fighter Zero, GGPO stuff (3rd Strike, Vampire Savior, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and a ton of other stuff). None of these are played competitively anymore but some of them have netplay clients (specifically GGPO) that still has a thriving community to play against online.
Console Tekken has been getting less competitive lately. 3D fighters in general haven't been very balanced in a competitive setting
(Soul Calibur 3 is perfect example). 2D fighters are still very much alive and are typically more balanced (Guilty Gear XX Accent Core and Street Fighter: 3rd Strike mainly). I actually compete in GGAC tournaments all over. Last one I went to was in Connecticut. -
I still play old skool fighting games in my notebook with friends.
- Street Fighter 2 (turbo, super turbo)
- Street Fighter Zero/Alpha series
- Street Fighter 3 series
- Street Fighter EX series
- King of Fighter series
- Capcom VS series (XvS, MvS, MvC, MvC2, CvS, CvS2)
- Rival Schools series
- Star Gladiator series
- Battle Arena Toshinden
- Soul Blade / Soul Calibur series
- Guilty Gear X series
- Killer Instinct series
- Mortal Kombat series
- DOA series
.... pretty much all NeoGeo and Capcom fighters mainly. -
Gulty Gear - I strongly approve.
And for those of you who don't know about the 2D Fighter hype: Justin Wong vs. Daigo (Street Fighter: 3rd Strike) and Justin Wong vs. Yipes - Epic Comeback (Marvel vs. Capcom 2). -
I know Justin and Daigo.
I was there.
I have been part of the Arcade gaming scene for quite some time now.
I have had the honor to play against these great gamers.
Google my alias, I was known as a Capcom gamer, writing some guide and FAQs.
I havent had a chance enter any international ranking tourneys in years though... being a broke college student doesnt help. -
That's cool. I see Justin a lot in NY. Are you East Coast?
-
nope, when there are tourneys in West Coast, I come and watch.
Evo is always a great event to see everyone. -
Where u guys get all the fighting games? Mame? Last time i used MAme they had only super old agmes like street fighter 2 etc
-
Mame is quite updated to handle many arcade platform games.
I also have a Dreamcast emulator (I dumped the BIOS from my old DC, so its legal) for the Naomi games. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Yep I have my dreamcast emulator and MVC2, Sonic Advenure, Shen Mu, and a few others.
I hated to retire my DC it gave me some good times.
As for PC fighters ther is also that MUGEN or what ever it is, the fighting game with like 6000 characters

Also as for "stealing" my analogy is this:
If you have a favorite movie you watched a kid and now 20 years later that movie is no longer in production, you can not buy it anywhere or find it anywhere and you happen to want to show it to your kids to share the same memories. You cant find it or buy it anywhere but you can find it on the net. Is that stealing? I say no, but according to "law" or a certain forum member yes its still wrong.
What is the solution? Hunt every yard sale in the country or ebay for a used copy? Even if you find it, the "owner" of the product the people with the copyright are not getting the money but the person selling it does. Why would you be legaly obligated to give them money for it? Hint: Your not. Infact I think in the fine print of the laws when you buy a movie or something. You did not buy the movie itself but rather rights to it and your not allowed to resell it. Yet places like Blockbuster exsist and we do not enforce such laws.
Other laws like tieing your horse to a telephone pole is a felony but not enforced becasue the law is like 100 years old. In my state Adultery is a crime, its right in the state statues. But you could spend all day calling every law enforcement agentcy and lawer in town trying to find somebody to charge your cheating wife/husband with it and nobody would. Even if you had proof. Why? because just because its written law does not mean its actually enforced.
Same goes for "pirating" beyond there time movies & games. There is no reason to let them fade into the fabric of time just because its immoral to have them without paying for them, when you cant even pay for them anymore!
So also I say to you what about archeology? If you find the treasures and mummified remains of some past civilization from 1000 years ago and take it isnt that stealing? Yes it is heck thats somebodies personal property and you could be violating there laws and religious beliefs by taking it, yet its totally legal and we accept it as ok. Why? because time has sealed there fate and made there laws and ownership to the property somewhat invalid.
Same goes for arcade games that are generations old, if you cant find them or buy them anywhere. If the original owners for the product are no longer selling it or making money from it... then you should be able to figure the rest. -
What about DragonBall games for PC?
are there any?
Once I saw a FSP mod (for Counter Strike I think) thar featured DBZ characters, and instead of guns you had powers.. it was really really well made, impressive, was almost as a whole new game...
but I never saw it again... anyone heard about it? -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
thanx for all the info will check them out

The "special moves" you could do in it were great and the fighting was much faster paced than Tekken or any of them slow *$% games.
(the game reminds me a little of the world; last link)
Was it released for pc? -
I mainly play my games on emulators.... pretty much 100% fully supported, so no sound or graphic issues for the 3D Capcom games like Rival Schools.
