    That is all.

Let the tinkering and modding begin.

    Still need to play FF9.

I have always loved disc 1, but for some unknown reason I begin to lose interest in disc 2 and 3

Meh, I own FFVIII on both pc and ps1 already, and I always have trouble running it on my pc. From my experience, FFVIII runs so much better on pc if you use your ps1 disk through an emulator - the sound is superior, you can up the resolution to whatever you want, and the custom shaders through the emulator make the game look gorgeous. And of course for those who are interested, through epsxe you can make the game run faster so the "draw grinding" isn't too bad.

I`m not playing this game until I have played FF VII I bought many months ago lol.

FF VII, VIII and X are my favorites. Will play VIII too for sure :)

Final Fantasy IX is still my favourite FF game but it's very unlikely (barring a Square Enix miracle) that you would see it on Steam since they never made a PC port of this game unlike the earlier two, this makes me a sad panda.

FFIX will not be ported to pc anytime soon, if ever for that matter, Square-Enix isn't really looking back at it's older titles at this point, unless it's a remake on portables/consoles. But FFIX looks gorgeous as it is through EPSXE emulator:

Settings for making all your favorite JRPG PS1 titles look amazing for EPSXE are here: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/sony/ps1/enhance-ps1-graphics-with-the-best-epsxe-plugin-settings

Only emulate if you own the game, pirates sink the gaming industry :)

On a side note, if you own FFVII on steam you should really check out the mods, it's a whole new experience with them, here is a youtube vid with a download to the mods in the description - it is what I used:

    Enjoy!

I feel tempted to try out FFVIII again, but I think I will give it a year or so to "mature" on the mod scene. Oddly, it's probably the only Final Fantasy since FFIV that I only played once (excluding the MMOs) and I remember enjoying it overall but not liking the Junction system. It's been so many years though I really only vaguely remember the intricacies of it. Definitely worth trying out again in the near future, or at least buying to let sit in my library when it hits a Steam sale.

GameFAQs: Final Fantasy VIII (PS) Time/Ultimecia Plot FAQ by Sir Bahamut

A good read for those interested in FF8's plot. It treats basic metaphysics, epistemology, ontology, literary theory, theology and predestination theory, scales of normative ethics... Skirts through seminal ideas of the Old and New Testaments, St. Augustine, Aquinas, Siddharta (Buddha), Proust, Montaigne, Plato, Descartes, Calvin, Al-Ghazali... The arguments are mostly epistemological, but in many cases, the authors do not reach firm conclusions.

    Spoilers.
