Ok so I can't find the other thread that this might be in so I'll ask the question here.
Is anyone else having problems running this benchmark? I can't seem to get the actual benchmark to load without it crashing after pressing the Start button.
Specs are in the sig.
Oh, and I have tried disabling CrossfireX
-
what drivers do you use?
-
At the moment I'm limited to the latest Dell drivers. Ati drivers don't install on the 5870's
-
-
Yeah, for the moment. Apparently they are working on a fix.
-
Runs fine for me on Nvidia hardware, though there was an Nvidia watermark throughout the bench run. I received a score of 1500 on High (1920x1080). It doesn't seem to support SLi at the moment, so I guess that's a factor in my low score (would you call that low?).
-
Ya i'm hearing that the ATI Cards (specifically the 5000 series) are having trouble running the benchmark. Maybe Nvidia locked out the ATI Cards lol.
-
Nvidia here and I am running it fine too....1698 was the lowest and 1789 was the best.
-
Ran it yesterday, working fine on my 5870MR:

Low

Man I wonder if I am going to get this game or not. I really do not have time in my life for a MMO but I miss the old FFXI, dont miss WoW too much.
Im sure the benchmark will only tempt me more. -

I hope I get into the beta.
-
16xx on LOW for my Y460... Speechless lol
-
I'm running on the Catalyst 10.6 on my G73, which has a 5870MR, also got it to run, are you sure you installed the mobility drivers? XP
-
I get:
1450 on HIGH
2300 on LOW -
Ya, it must be the Dell drivers that are screwing it up. I can't even install the 10.6 driver on my system (same goes for most everyone with 5870's from Dell).

Unlike regular games, paying that monthly fee makes it really hard for me if I cant devote enough time to the game to make it worth it. Plus lets face it MMO's dont really pay off unless you are there often to get the items, to build up status, and find a guild to play with.
Atleast in WoW I could solo and dink around as a casual player, but FFXI it was have a team or dont play. I remember those cold heartless nights sitting in Jeuno with my LFP flag on for 3+ hours just to find a PUG and then have it go to hell because the group sucked, and FFXI of course has death penalty too unlike WoW making it even worse when you die or have to go AFK due to family business.
I did WoW on private servers for a while, that was good. Took a lot of that pressure away and let me just have fun. -
Getting lesser time for WoW as well, but the good news is that cataclysm made is possible for 10 man only raids, so I'll just join my guild's 10 man raid every week for maybe 1-2 nights at most and be done with it.

Edit: What're your 5870 clocks? -
Which system do u have that has the 5870s also how big is the bencmark file maybe my file is corrupt? When I get home I'll post my clocks.
-
I don't think its your file. I get errors when trying it too (specs in sig).
-
I got 1624 on High with my XPS M1730. Not sure if the benchmark utilizes SLI though.
-
-
Catalyst 10.6
High Res: 2113
Low Res: 3366
Clocks: 700/1000
Kinda disappointed as was expecting to be at the above average score on high res -
Got the Dell Catalyst Control Center Drivers,
700/1000 Clock.
Can't run no matter what I try. -
What? Final Fantasy's at 14, now?
-
I'm in the same situation as you hitokiri1. It just crashes every time I begin.
-
I haven't even played 13 yet! >.<
-
-
It won't run in my notebook too. I get an error that says I'm missing "d3dx9_41.dll" from my computer. Is that Direct X 9 or something? I thought Win7 had Dx11? Is it okay to install DX9 on top of that?

I'm excited by this game but I won't give in to the hype!
And have you guys seen the 3D demo? Amazing! -
-
went to the microsoft site and downloaded the June update. Works now but not that great on an integrated chip unfortunately ... only got 280+ on low resolution.
-
Ran fine on G73JH-A2 with 10.5 drivers, but crashes on stocks. High res bench was 20xx and low res 3500.
-
Ran the FF14 Benchmark on my m15x.
Low (720p) scored 3600.
High (1080p) scored 2000.
Rig:
core i7-720
Mobility Radeon 5850 1GB GDDR5
8GB DDR3 1333mhz
7200rpm HDD
Is my benchmark score kinda low for my system? On catalyst 10.6 btw. -
Im guessing this all has to do with the drivers. Thats super bunk im really looking forward to this game (hoping I get beta on ps3), and im about to pull the trigger on an m17x with 5870 xfired and ill be playing this on the m17x for sure, but drivers not working and dell and ati better get on it.....
-
Ya hopefully it's drivers and bad benchmarking right now. I was hoping to run the game on high setting with my current setup when it comes out. I would be shocked if the requirements are really that high, especially for a MMO.
-
If you see the multiplayer trailer on gametrailers (sorry can't link at work) It shows major shadow and draw distance improvement from alpha to beta build, which can put alot of strain on a system. Cant wait for this games community though, looks more involved then ff11, more things to do other then just questing and grinding, more crafting hopefully, I felt crafting in the old game was either too hard to start or not enough input of items on the auction house.
And hopefully they have more precausionary measures for Real money sellers, I hate when you cant get a decent piece of armor cause 5 guys with slightly altered names are camping it.... UGH !!!
But one things for sure I hope they keep the game really group orientated, its an mmo not a solo rpg, I hate in wow that you can solo soo much by yourself, or have a high level buddy run you through everything. Takes any fun or difficulty in that game out . -
I got only 600+ on low settings on a 9500GS. Will test it on high later if it is still viewable.
-
-
Low, because it's not covering the screen, and the high bench is full hd resolution.

I received my M17x yesterday and have been trying to get FFXIV's benchmark to run since then with no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction? I downloaded the latest drivers from dell as well as what I could on ATI's website (catalyst 10.6 though it indicated there was a warning, I didn't see any errors in the log) including XF application profiles. I'm at a bit of a loss now with what to do, any help would be appreciated. system specs are: i7 920xm / 8g dual chan mem / Crossfire 5870's / 256 SSD / 1200p LED / intel wifi / 3 yr complete care / silver

Ran fine for me also.

Probably will not try this game though and wait for GW2 instead.

I got 1512 on high (1080p) and 2871 on low (720p). My ATI 5830 was OC'd to 525/1100.
Do these low scores have something to do with ATI cards not working well with this benchmark?
So far, my laptop has been able to run about any 3D game I've tried at 1920x1080p resolution, max detail settings and run at minimum at least 30-45 FPS, often double that. -
You forget that even a regular HD5770 clocks are 850 core / 1200 memory. Your overclocks are nowhere close to that. It would seem that core speed matters a lot in this instance.
But there is hope. Once it's released and ATi has provides a profile for this game and Square Enix optimizes it more, you should be ok. MMO is all about making the games run on as many systems as possible. -
AOC is probably holding that position.
The benchmark is clearly Nvidia-biased when checking different forums.
I remember seeing people getting a much higher score than my desktop with the same cpu (E8500 @ 4ghz) but with an much older (nvidia) gpu. Like a 2000 score difference.
It's been well known that they clearly haven't got a clue how to optimize the PC version. FFXI shared the same problem when released.
Add the fact that they seem to hate KB/M control schemes as well, it's clear that the PC is just an added system rather than the intended one.
Which is kind of sad, as it's not intuitive at all to play an MMO with a controller.
Also the fact that the "benchmark" doesn't support full screen and only two resolutions further adds to that they don't have a clue about what they're doing. -
