This may not be the most appropriate place to post this topic, but since this is my Gaming Laptop, thought the Gaming forums would be the best place.

So, finally purchased a Dell XPS M1710 (so signature for the highlights) with a 7950 GTX card. I decided on getting this laptop as it appears that SLI and Dualcore laptops are still awhile away. By the time that these laptops are available at different places, the DX10 cards will be out, but probably only one card and not SLI, so... waiting, waiting, waiting, I wouldn't have a laptop for another 2 years until my dream machine came out and decided that this had the best specs for right now. It will probably be a year or two before games no longer will be released for DX9 and will REQUIRE DX10 cards as a minimum requirement. At that time, my laptop will probably either A.) need to be replaced, or B.) give me a chance to void the warranty and experiment with upgrading a laptop by installing a new DX10 card (assuming at the time they have a PCI-E card in laptop config).

For right now, this machine rivals that of my desktop (AMD FX-55, 6800 GeForce Ultra, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HD) machine that I've had for the past 2 years. It's a great laptop, and got it from a fantasic price on eBay for about $1,000 less than dell from purchasing from a licensed Dell Re-Seller.

The only thing I dislike about it is having to go through and remove all the "Pre-set" programs on the machine, but that only takes a few minutes to remove.

    Nice laptop.
Should be a monster for games, and anything else you throw at it.

Thanks... have been saving up for a gaming laptop for over a year now (I guess procrastinating has it's benefits at times) doing research, watching stores, making sure people are legit sellers, etc. So, I hope I don't have to deal with purchasing another system for another 2 years :)

Is that the cpu that you can overclock?
Im wondering if the e1705 owners can use that bios that lets you overclock the cpu.
