This has nothing to do with Microsoft. Microsoft doesn't release graphics drivers.

It should be a driver released by Nvidia with an inf file for HP notebooks. By the way on laptopvideo2go you can find much newer drivers. The current is 169.09!

The first thing I noticed was the black screen pause(~10 sec) at the beginning and end of the UAC prompt. So, went back to 156.73(from LV2go) which doesn't have any issues on my Go 6150. Other than that this driver(167.43) has been available on LV2Go for a while, performance(desktop) has improved a bit over the older 98.15 but between the 156.73 and this one, i don't see any difference.

I have a compaq with those new 167.43 drivers and have to wait about 10 seconds between clicking on my user picture and windows coming back on after I open the laptop lid.

But, I've used some other drivers off that LaptopVideo2Go and I have had the blue screen on Vista problem.

Vista Windows Update also includes the WHQL drivers. 167.43 just is the last one certified for the Go 6100, being released last week by HP or something.

Sometimes Vista can suggest drivers via Windows update if you ask for it. Takes a while though, best is to check laptopvideo2go or the Nvidia site to keep track.

Usually there is no frequent updates with the integrated graphics chips. The last update from HP was a long time ago. I don't even think there is an update from HP on their site with these new drivers yet.

I tried a couple off LV2G and they both BSODed me.
When updating drivers do you still need to unistall the previous driver, restart in safemode and install the new driver?

I don't usually install (how about never) Microsoft drivers from Windows Update, unless they are a newer version for a NIC, LCD or whatever. It's not that I don't trust their drivers, it's just that I don't trust them being new and usually they aren't.
If you update your system with the latest drivers (even if they are modded) and you get some sort of an advice from Microsoft (through Problem Reports and Solutions) make sure you don't install those. I happen to have two drivers they want me to install, even though mine are newer and from the manufacturer (ATi and nVidia).
