Hidden and Dangerous 2 is probably my all time favorite game and have spent many hours on the single player campaign so I decided I wanted to play some co-op. Well, my wife and I was having dinner tonight and I asked her, "would you like to play some co-op". She had no clue what I was talking about so I explained it to her and she was very reluctant to let me load hidden and dangerous on her laptop but she finally gave in.

She has never played a shooter in her life but let me tell you, we had a blast for about an hour tonight and she really seemed to enjoy herself. Near the end, I kept shooting her in the face and she got pissed and quit..hehe.

    Man, that was a blast.

Does anyone else have a signifigant other to game with them?

Frets on fire is a great game. Are you going to pick up Guitar Hero for pc to play with her or stick with FOF?

ive got guitar hero 3 on the ps2. sticking to frets on fire coz of the massive library online, we can download songs for the latest and stuff, and shes not into the 80s or legendary rock songs.

but its a very fun social activity, i love light activity based games, not worth a console imo. (cough*wii*cough)

    tips? LOL

I was thinking tie up and gaging, and forcing her to play but that won't blow over to well after I untie her.

I managed to get my GF addicted to WoW one day...

I had quit, because life was too busy (read: I was playing too much) and have always been really reluctant to start up again.

Well we had a slow week coming up and my GF turned to me and said "I really don't understand why you won't play that game again, what's the big deal? I want to see what this is all about."

So I signed ourselves up. I wasn't going to argue.

She tried it... hated it at first, we changed her character around to a Gnome Warlock (she was playing a Female Orc Hunter orignally) and she got hooked!

I couldn't wrestle the damn thing away from her =(. Ended up buying her her own copy of the game and she played it all week! She's level 38...

    That's only the start...

We moved to Australia 3 months ago, and haven't had a computer good enough to play WoW on for said time.

This Saturday, I asked her what she wanted to do... and she asked if we could re register our accounts, go to a internet cafe and play ALL DAY.

I didn't know what to say.

Apparently she finds it a really good way to relax, and with her new job being stressful, has been gagging to play.

Now, we're buying her, her own a Inspiron 1520 while I buy a new desktop PC, so we can play together whenever we want! Not even my idea, I was originally going to buy just a laptop for myself. She INSISTED I purchase my own desktop instead, and with the savings, buy a 15" inch laptop so we can take it with us on our travels (not to play WoW, necessarily... that's just a bonus).

Judging from the replies here I guess I'm lucky she's a gamer too!

Why am I so glad that I'm single and free to do whatever I please with my time?

I suppose people posting in this thread are a select minority. Don't know if I should congratulate them or give commiserations for loss of freedom.

Harleyquin07 what loss of freedom?you are the judge of your time, respect and self free time is something you must obtain in a true relationship to last...
And i'm not talking only about games but for every other hobbies you have...
    Learn to say

"Sorry i don't have time for shopping i'm fragging my best friend now"

    And you'll be happier :p

p.s. quote jeff,if my gf plays more than me i'll start to worry...

What's that supposed to mean? Perhaps I'm being misunderstood here but what I meant to say was just about everyone on this thread has to devote part of the 24 hours given to them each day to relationship maintenance, it's something I don't care for since time spent on that activity is likely to be costly in quite a few ways. I'm completely indifferent as to whether or not fellow forum users have relationships but I do know that those who are involved will have less time on average for gaming compared to those who don't ceteris paribus.

There is so much wrong with this post... It's just not funny...

You know, some of us are VERY happy to share some of those "precious" 24 hours with someone we care about. There is way more to be happy about then lost "gaming" time.

All of us are just happy that some of that time, is also spent doing a hobby we enjoy, but getting to do it with someone else who surprinsingly enjoys it as well.

As I posted earlier whether or not forum users have relationships or not is a matter of complete indifference to me. If you are happy in your relationship then good for you, it won't make an iota of difference to me either way. My point in my first post which I should have stated explicitly was that I don't think that gaming and having a relationship are two entirely compatible activities to spend time with. Of course this thread shows otherwise but it is my opinion that gaming is the better use of my time (applies to me, disagree all you want but I'll stick to this) instead of having a relationship.

Though I couldn't care less, I am regrettably afflicted by the trait known as curiosity. As you rightly said to each his own and I stand by my thread even if it seems odd to others.

Some value freedom above all else, and I like my freedom to game instead of worrying about others. That's what I am and I'll stick to it.

Believe it or not that worked.. XD

Aw man does she suck at gaming, no matter what game we played, all she did was get the fastest shooting gun, stand there and hold the trigger down and shoot until her clip was empty, as soon as something moved, and occasionally things that didn't move.

Oh.. This dispute going on that 'gaming is useless doing it with a gf' or w.e.. so I understand.. Interesting opinion, why even post it and take away from this thread? You're opinion, who cares, congrats for sidetracking everyone from the point..lol Stupid loners ruining the fun for all the gamin'lovers out there.

I remember reading this comment once on another forum by a 16 year old, might fit in well here:
"I really hope my next girlfriend doesn't like to play PC games; why? Because I only have one laptop and I'm not gonna share with that *****". Lol.
Nah, but gaming together is actually quite fun - age of empires 3 :)

Strangely enough, I agree with Harleyquin, though I'm a social oddity anyways. My last girlfriend didn't really understand the concept of video games, and thought they were childish. Needless to say the laptop soon got more attention than she did. :p

I have decided that my next girlfriend will have to be good enough to beat me in an fps match. I'll also accept a loss in Guitar Hero or DDR though.
