I understand this is a workstation based gpu and not inteneded for gaming, even thogh this is still a good gpu from what I have seen. I am looking into a IBM T60 and the x1400 seems like just to low of a performer for me, so Im interested in the FireGL v5200.

How do games play on this and if not how do you?

    thank you,.

Games play on it just fine. Maybe a couple of glitches or hickups compared to the x1600 though. Usually you wont have to do anything special to get it to work.

I'm not able to play WoW on my ATI Mobility FireGL V5200. This is after trying different settings/drivers for 2 weeks now. The game just locks up randomly and forces me to reboot the machine. I'd stay away from FireGL cards for gaming if I were you. My old Raedon Mobility never had these kinds of problems on my T40.

I don't think the game locking up has anything to do with the GPU.Have you tried tracking down the problem ? Warcraft has logs. What windows are you using ?
