I think this proves the MXM type rumors, as the 9261 has the thermal set up for MXM III and MXM IV. And this also means that if it fits in the Sager 9261, then it will fit in the Sager 5791.

I wonder if this thing can break 18000 in 3Dmark 06! That would be crazy!

I talked to them a bit through email in regards to availability. They said if you pre-order now, it WILL ship in December. They seemed pretty sure about that. If you don't pre-order you are subject to supply/demand issues. I'm assuming they've secured at least a set amount of these chips..at least I'd hope so if they put out a press release about it. Doing a big press release and then not having any chips/delaying production of those laptops would be really bad for them in a sector that relies on word of mouth to stand out amongst it's competitors.

I think this is who I'm going to go with for my new notebook..these guys seem on top of their game and from what i've seen/heard, they take care of their customers. Plus I can't find any who can match what their warranty provides, even if it is on the expensive side.

    Yeah. Right.

A "real" DX10 game, in my eyes, is a game that either

    a) has DX10 features that can't be hacked into DX9 (Bioshock's water effects, anyone?)

    or

    b) runs smoother in DX10 mode.

The eurocom model is m u c h more expensive..!

    WUXGA
    Q6700
    4096mb 800mhz ram
    2x160gb sata300 7200rpm HDD's
    8x dual layer dvd-rw
SLI 8800m gtx's on PCMW and Eurocom.
    802.11AGN 300mbps Wireless Adapter
    Vista Buisness 64bit

    PCMW is $4209 usd

    Eurocom is $5558 usd

But as I said before i'm having doubts about PCMW. I'm still waiting for answers..

Quad core is a good investment but there is not alot of programs yet that can benefit from the four cors. So in some testings, the dual cors with slightly more ghz/core get higher points. Even though 2,6Ghz x 4 is more than 3,0Ghz x 2

This will hopefully change in the future.

Crysis not a real DX10 game? Yeah Far Cry ran smooth on that hardware when that was released, did it? No it didn´t. It took at least a year until the hardware catched up with that game. Same for Crysis, next gen GPU´s will run Crysis smooth. Those "DX10" hacks doesn´t look like DX10 in-game in action anyway. You don´t have real volumetric smoke for instance in DX9.

Anyway Crysis definitely is the first real DX10 game, but that doesn´t mean it can be played on DX9 hardware. It is not the first real DX10 only game though. Why would they do that when not lots of people have DX10 anyway.

But talking about the game being badly optimized is just stupid. I remember when Far Cry was released, it was the same then as it is now. No current hardware maxes Crysis out with playable framerates.

Damn this laptop is quite cheap if I count it in swedish kronor. Now when the dollar is so weak against the swedish krona one might be this beast now :) Got damn, I configured the laptop for around $4000 and that is around 24000 swedish kronor :) Not that expensive.

Just contacted them and got a reply $150 for shipping here to Sweden. Now if I would order one I think I would go with the E6850 3 ghz with a 1333 FSB instead of the slower Quad Core CPU with a 1066 FSB.

That's a good question. I called Sager the other day and asked, and they said they won't be able to give me a positive answer until Dec 6th. I had them put my 9261 on hold until I heard the official word.

Another thing, do you guys think it might be a little overkill to SLI these cards? Are there any games that won't be able to run well with just one?

Hmm when the SLI support for Crysis works better I think that will do that game just great. But a single 8800m GTX should be able to run all games out there fine and hopefully at 1920x1200 resolution :)

I would like SLI because of running games in native resolution for a while 1920x1200 would be just great.

This laptop surely brings notebooks really close to desktop performance. Hmm this laptop should perform better than a 8800GTX Ultra performance wise if both 8800m cards are used in SLI in a game.

i wouldnt go as far as to say an Ultra....maybe the GTX in SLI, these cards are like 2 320mb GTS's and two of those were equal to about one GTX

Hmm I had hoped it at least kicked my desktop 8800GTX. Oh well if it is almost equal in performance in SLI I would be happy. Actually thinking of ordering it, though it looked ugly I must say.

hey, just to note.. don't mix shipping costs up with taxes.. it's not that the seller charges u for the tax, it's your country that does.. the seller just ships.. if the shipped item runnes to customs and get's checked and there is a difference between the amount of tax counted by the seller and the amount that needs to charged in your country they will charge u for that.. now mostly when buying from outside Europe these days it is cheaper but it could be that it will be, talking about the price, the same when u buy it locally and with warranty issues in mind u probably, when it's not that more cheaper, buy it locally then

I suggest you contact your local customs office. However, as far as I know most countries in Europe "only" add VAT to the US price (if it is a notebook). In the case of Sweden that would be 25%.

Awsome and for around 1380 pounds for a single 8800GTX , that is a steal in UK money. DPCtech in the UK sells the old ones for 1500 quid minimum , with single 8800 GTX expect the same one to retail for 1800 pounds - thats the UK for you . I feel like going over there and buying one maybe I should , I have a mate in Long Island .......
