The German website Notebookjournal.de, has the first hands-on review of an Nvidia 8800M GTX based notebook that I've seen. The notebook is equipped with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900. It gets a 3DMark 06 score of 9,241, and more impressively, handily beats everything, including the Dell XP 1730, in real gaming benchmarks.

13 FPS for World in Conflict for m1730 at 1024x768??!!!!!! i highly highly doubt it....lower resolutions is where the m1730 shines

Hmm why do they run the games in 1024x768, would be more interesting to see frames in higher resolutions.

I think it's because the benchmark results for the other notebooks were obtained in earlier reviews, with hardware more suited for 1024x768, e.g., 8600M GT, and they wanted "apples to apples" comparisons.

I dont believe the fps would DROP as much as we are used to since the G92 / 8800m has 256bit bus ;)

I JUST READ THE GERMAN SITE!!!! AND ITS SAYS "FIRST OFF... CRYSIS RUNS ON HIGH DETAILS!!!" FTW!!!! WOOOOO

    Sooooooooooooo it says:

    1600*1200
    All high
    Crysis demo
    avg 24 fps...

    Turn the res. down
    Turn it on very high
    OC'
    30fps :)

Actually it is Very high you want to play Crysis in, especially Shaders and Post Processing. I do know that the 256bit bus is limiting at higher resolutions e.g 1920x1200.

Lol, unwiredshowing saying the 8600m gt was the fastest previous graphics card! People always seem to assume that the newer models must be faster than the previous series, whatever level/specs there given. And they missed 8700m gt aswell..odd.

Well i think they were just doing a comparison of the best DX10 card. Plus its harder to get 7950's now. As for the 8700... well perhaps there was a mistake and it was actually an 8700 in that ROCK. But as people have said the 8700 is just an overclocked 8600 anyway so maybe they didnt feel the need to grab another notebook with it.

Eitherway, its nice to see crysis looking so umm.... playable :D
