First Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Video Shows Killer Killstreaks

Infinity Ward has released the first footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer action, revealing the customizable killstreaks players can equip after unlocking them. The debut killstreak bonus is amazing—an AC130 air strike.

Yes, you'll be able to whip out the laptop on the battlefield, then rain hell from above, all from the comfort of your AC130 gun ship. Brutal. Looks like players getting hammered with aircraft fire won't be helpless though, as that AC130 is vulnerable to some surface to air smack downs.

It better not be possible to string helis (or AC130s or whatever it is) and airstrikes together the way you can in cod4. That ruins it.

Yeah that would ruin it. The AC130 is a gunship. That would blow if you could string those together. You would never be able to respawn for more and a few seconds lol

It'd just be nice if first person shooters were just first person shooters again, not first person shooters with RPG mechanics, or first person shooters with vehicles, or first person shooters with airstrikes, etc etc.

If I die I'd like to die because somebody shot me, not because somebody hit 6, or clicked half the map, or their AI controlled whatever flew overhead and killed me.

Yeah, and there is nothing worse than being killed by an airstrike, and then respawning in the exact same place and being killed again by the same bloody airstrike. It should be that you have a second or two of invincibility when you spawn, so you can get your bearings or find cover.

That crap (airstrikes and helis) ruins the game. I hope it is better in MW2.

 

No, the worst thing is being killed by martyrdom. Or dying on a 6 kill streak lol.

Teh Noob Tube actually takes some skill from longer ranges. The noobiest gun in the game is a Double Tap'd P90 .

 

The best part about the PC version is the fact you can at least find servers with all this crap disabled.

...finding servers with all this crap disabled that actually have players on them will be a different matter though. :|

 

I just hope they tune down the amount of grenades and explosives.

 

Yeah, but most don't shoot from long range.
Dying on a 4 kill streak is worse. Or airstrike missing because spawn point changed

Martyrdom, juggernaut, and noob tubes, sometimes last stand .... I wish they all could be disabled in hardcore. There should be a perk to defend against martyrdom. And a game mode where everyone has juggernaut. If you shoot someone at point blank range with a shotgun they should go down.

This game is going to rock. I can't wait.

 

As much as I'm getting sick of the CoDisms like the kill streaks, retarded perks, dude-bro target audience, the overuse of over-the-top water cooler moments, as well as the consolization of the game (tiny maps suck), after watching that video I've pretty much settled it, I'm going to get MW2, plus all these multiplatforming devs keep thinking PC gaming is dying or whatever, but it's not, and I'm going to show that with my money. I'm no pirate and I'm going to do my part to try and maintain the faith of PC games developers

I also hope for some better mod support this time around. Didn't seem like there is much modding going on for CoD4.

Plus it was pretty cool seeing the AC-130 in the distance start chunking flares when the player launched the portable SAM missile.

 

I didn't notice at first but did anyone else notice the under-60 FPS framerate? Maybe they want to make the game alot better looking this time........

 

you do know they would have to remove stopping power if juggernoob was removed, as much as I hate it, it is the exact same thing as stopping power.

And I hate the rifle grenades from WaW MUCH more than the noob tubes, they explode from any distance and have a larger explode radius, basically an insta-kill.

 

Change is a nice sometimes.

 

That's probably more as a result of YouTube's video format than anything else.

Not when we're talking established franchises.

 

My assumption, the game is slated to be 60 fps again on the consoles.

 

All i got to say.......Is here come the hackers for multiplayer mode....unlimited airstrikes i assume.....

I'm a console gamer, but i prefer some of the smaller maps, mainly CQB

BUT CRAP AC-130s in MP, I may have to go prestiege this time around

 

This will be a fun game I think. It's hard to say how fun multiplayer will truly be. Sometimes too much chaos (bombs going off, perks being used) makes the game too confusing and not as fun. Hopefully there will be some multiplayer servers that turn all this extra stuff off. I would like to play a modern combat game with one shot, one kill.

Play project reality for BF2 if you want the one shot one kill sort of game with minimal vehicles. Very realistic, though very, very hard to get into and not very noob friendly as I've discovered time and again.

 

This, the 3x grenade perk and maps like wetwork are just no fun to play on.

Because once they equip a light machine gun for some "spray and pray" and use martyrdom, they can get some easy kills.

 

It looks promising as well as the graphics is nice with lot of physx. I wish I had some medicine to keep me sleep until November.

Looking forward to it, let's hope they give us some bigger maps. Thats the only thing i miss on CoD4.
In the meantime I'm having a blast with Prototype

 

Prototype is sweet just a bit too easy lol. Already finished hard and unlocked all moves within 10 days of purchase .

They BETTER continue the M16 and M14 or else I will....um...not get the Prestige Edition

I'm not surprised, like I keep saying Call of Duty is going pro console.It was probably some plot by mircrosoft to promote the Xbox 360.The next Call of Duty probably isn't going to have a PC version at all.

No matter how many games go console, I'm not buying that piece of $hit Xbox 360.

Look on the bright side, we still have valve corporation and the Half Life series still on our side....

 

On what basis is the Xbox 360 a POS? If you're referring to the RROD problem, I have an original launch unit that has yet to RROD or give me problems.

Sure it's a little louder than the newer Jasper systems, but it gets the job done.

 

Yup, bigger maps is the one thing it's been lacking the most for me.

It'd take a lot of the spam deaths out of it too.

 

How to get it in PC?
I usually play that level in Xbox.

 

If I remember correctly you only have to play through the singleplayer game to unlock it. It's been a while since I played it. Went back to CoD4 after I'd levelled up to max in the multiplayer campain.
Have switched between Vista, W7 and back to Vista again since then, so I've started at the bottom, L.1, again Didn't bother to save my stats............ and one completely different thought, the Zii Egg looks like a smashing mp3/media player. Maybe it's time to get another addition to my Cowon D2 and Zune 80gb

MW2 is going be so hot and November isnt too far so just wait for it because its gonna be worth the wait btw i hope they release a demo very soon
