??? why not set your resolution from the game launcher like everybody else??

ALSO you can change your video card settings for aspect ratio so that you can play at a lower resolution if desired without any stretching effect (I often play 1920x1080 even though I have a 1920x1200 monitor for recording videos)

Because if I just do it from the launcher then it still stretches by default on two of my computers. I have no idea why it does this, but my friend also has this issue.

I did not, you probably needed admin rights on the launcher would be my first guess as that means your resolution was not changing and that sounds like access rights problems.

Yeah but you should find the source of your problem and make a tutorial on the fix and not the work around :D

Also find out if your the minority as this is the first time I have seen anybody with the problem. It just does not make a lot of sense to make a tutorial on something if its a very acute occurrence.

For some reason the first example that comes to mind is me making a tutorial on how to pee standing up. I do not think many people have a problem with it but if you do and your solution was to cut a hole in your pants... well even if it works I would recommend discovering the zipper and learning to use it instead as its the better solution.

So if you make a tutorial on it thus become a teacher, teachers should always discover and teach the best methods and knowledge.

A key example was how you only searched for the .ini file rather than tell people how to navigate to it. That may not work so well for everybody as they can possibly have more than one file with the same name, also knowing how to navigate to it can teach them more as well as allow them to discover the other game files.

All valid points, but for a lot of people they just want the fix that will work, this does that. It's a manual way to do it, and it solves the issue, my friend and I both had this issue. However, one of my computers doesn't, I guess it's a mixed bag.

However, if it came to the possibility that they may have the same file in a different game folder, there would be a bunch of different things.

A.) Will not have the same list of settings.
B.) Says the source folder in the search, so the rest of the files can be found there.

This does the job right now, and has no ill effects, so I am not sure what the issue is. But, if I did come up with a better solution, I would report it and make a new video. This seems to be the only fix I have at the moment though.

Hey FarenheitGTI, I know this thread is very old, but I am having the same problem as you, as well as many other people on the official SWTOR forums. Don't listen to Vicious, I don't know why he's acting like you are foolish for trying to help people, when he clearly has no understanding of the problem at all.

That said, my question is this: can you describe the fix that you used? The Youtube video you posted is no longer up. Myself, and many other SWTOR players would be eternally grateful.
