Interested to hear how Flight Sim X runs on it? I've heard it's hard to get 10+ FPS with good hardware.

I have the 1710 w/7950GTX on it's way right now.

you should have no probems with that game as you have a really good graphic card and processor

You have way more than enough power to run that game at its full graphics capacity. Enjoy the flight!

yerrrr.. yes, that is ample of power for the DX9 version. but you can't run the DX10 one... so the pic quality isn't as good.

Can someone respond who's actually tried it please. Gamespot reviewer had trouble getting 10+ FPS with an X1800 based desktop and only could get it to run smooth at low resolution.

Well, i have ok with FPS on my xi1546 and x1800 in native resolution, but i have no anti alias and puted some stuff to high instad of ultra high. This game need 2Gb of run to run good.

Ok, I have FSX Deluxe on my laptop with the specs in my sig.

Now, im running medium-high settings with some CFG and autogen tweaks.

Normally, in big cities like Miami, New York, Hong Kong, etc... fps is between 12-18fps which really sucks, it feels poorly optimized.

Now, in large open areas or mountain ranges FPS is usually between 25-70fps which is good, although there are some bugs overall, its a good game.

I hope MS releases a patch soon.

Ok, cool. Sounds like max resolution and ultra high are out of the question.

Onto another question... Does it support multiple views via different monitors?

I think it does, but your gonna need a pretty good vid card.

I think the 7900GTX should handle it..

Asenna, I have the same laptop as you except I have 2gb of DDR2.

Anyways, FSX is very hard on new system specs.

Especially when you are at big airports and flying around large cities, the depth the game offers is amazing, but performance is not.

I feel many times when im flying and getting 12-15fps as if my GPU is not the bottleneck but the CPU.

The retail version does run slightly better after some CFG tweaks and trial and error.

I also have my GPU clocks set at 500/400 while gaming. :)
