Not really Notebook on topic, but gaming on topic at least. I bought Halo 1 and 2 once they dropped in price, about 9-12 months after release. This time though, I caved and bought Halo 3 full price.
What's the deal with the $60 price tag? really makes you think about buying a game these days. Also makes me not feel so bad for usually waiting a year or two before investing in the latest generation console since there's a couple dozen games to be had at discount.
Only played about 45 minutes, and the gameplay feels same-same. Looks nice, sounds good, but nothing all that incredible so far. Almost feels like they made it just to finish the trilogy. But I'm not far in, so maybe things will change soon.

Oh things change...in a hurry. And multiplayer, although feels the same, is still freaking intense.

wasn't a big fan of halo2, but they've added alot of customization and options to this game along with nice looking graphics, new weapons, and tons of online things (like 4 player co-op, and 9 game modes and more stuff). This is definitely the most complete halo game in the series. If the gameplay feels the same then i probably won't be crazy about it (I dunno why i'm like this).
This is just food for thought: does anyone remember Jet Force Gemini for N64 and level design/alien insect-like warriors?
i keep thinking that jet force gemini influenced halo in many ways. I don't know, maybe i'm crazy. I'm just hoping the people who've played that game may feel the same way. -
Jet Force Gemini> Halo
I remember it had like a dog with jetpacks and stuff...that game was amazing. -
I don't get whats with all the animosity for Halo on this forum.
-
If this crumbles into another love/hate Halo debate, we're going back to Unicorns and Horses.

jet force gemini kicked ass

Master chief battle scar was from a fight with unicorns. Look at those battle scars of those limited edition disc. Unicorns ftw!
-
I mean have you tried beating anyone down with a warhammer yet? DO that and then try and say that gameplay isn't amazing
-
I've done that in Warcraft 3.. Warcraft ftw! and they have unicorns too! not to mention horses.
Back to topic, the $60 price tag is used to pay -> microsoft's money losing console, the warthog, and the money that went into making Halo: The monument.... -
Halo 3 gets better the more you play it. At first I was disappointed and a little upset that I had actually spent 60 bucks for the same game. The story is getting pretty interesting and I'm only on like level 3.I'm hoping it's nto a short game! I need this to tie me over until HL2:OB.
The multiplayer seems like it would be awsome, especially with the extra items like the deployable cover and the camo, but I don't have an internet connection able to play it online so that's out of the question for me. -
I would like to play through the story, but like most video games, i dont have the time to invest getting great at multi-player and i dont feel like hearing pre-pubescent boys scream played out insults into their headsets.

Well it's $60 because all NEW xbox360 games are $60. Not because Microsoft iis losing money or w/e. Even though that may be true. Guitar Hero II was $60. Gears of War was $60. So was Madden and just about every NEW game release.

Yeah it sucks as games ar now more expensive as the 49 they were. I waited to get a 360 for Halo3, so now Im happy. Lets just hope that this game can rip me from the deathgrip WoW has on meh.
Folded and Bought Halo 3...
