The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi everyone,

Today I fired up Folding@Home for the first time in years to help contribute in small part to the COVID19 research work being hosted on the platform.

Upon setting up I noticed there is a team for NBR. In the spirit of community if you have some spare processing power and or simply want to contribute to this noble cause here is some info that might help.

    NBR team ID: 213698
Current ranking: 575 out of 25587
To work on COVID project: select "any disease"

Cheers and take care of yourselves and family during this trying time.

It seems to actually be taking off like crazy :) in March it passed 1 exaflop and now it has passed 2 exaflops of power or about 6 times more powerful than the fastest traditional super computer.
