Anyone play this game? Not the Fifa Manager 2010, but FM 2010. If so, how many seasons does this game last? I downloaded the demo on steam and it ran fine but I got extremely frustrated as I could not even win 1 game after 18 simulations. I am fairly familiar with True Football and follow the GUNNERS as much as I can.

I wanted some more opinions on the game. I have searched and no other posts really on this offering. Other places sing its graces but go into detail as to what is good and what is not.

    Thanks for your time!

Pfff of course. Started with Leeds United solo. At the moment I'm in year 2020. Just owning. :) I also play sometimes over the internet (TCP/IP) with my friend and his brother in multiplayer which works reasonably well. I got sacked as the manager of Brazil, that was after I lead Italy and France. Kind of fun. I built a good rep and now I can apply to pretty much any club/nation.

No idea how long does it last. Or whether it actually ends at some point.

It looks pretty realistic. On the other hand, keep in mind I'm long standing football (US: soccer) manager fan; been playing since Championship Manager. :)

I played FM2005 for like 10-15 seasons? O_O Eventually you get bored. The game does deteriorate after a while leaving clubs with massive budgets (providing you do a good job). The best challenge is to take a lower division team all the way up to the top. :D I haven't played FM for a while, it's too addicting. :p I started playing back in Champ Man 3.0 times. hehehe

If you have never played it before, it's a tough start, maybe start with a big club (with a nice budget) to get used to things in game. Look at some online guides, those really help for first time players.

Wow FM players on this forum.

I've been hooked ever since I bought Worldwide Soccer Manager 2007 and been buying it every year. I started my career with the Owls and imported Alan Irvine's photo as Manager. I love this game and even more so after 2009 when it went to 3D matches. It's the only game where I actually feel like a Manager. I wince whenever one of my players misses a close shot or i'll raise my arms when they score a goal (obviously when no one is around). :D

Once I got hooked on FM I bought FIFA Man 07 and bought the 08 and 09 versions. In a way it's not a bad game warts and all and it does a few things better than FM but as an overall package it's not in the same league with Football Manager. No pun intended.

The biggest problem that kills FIFA Man is that if you rely on the game in 3D matches you are subjected to the badly scripted engine of past FIFA PC games. So don't be too surprised if Sheffield Weds is leading Manchester Utd 11-0 in the first half. Now if you play in text mode then your results will be somewhat better but even so it's still unpredictable and unbelievable, whereas with FM your matches will be unpredictable but they are believable for the most part.

Do any of you guys know if you can simulate games quickly without watching them and managing each part of the game simulation? Kinda like the FIFA quick simulation? Thanks, StevenX

There should be settings for "Text only" and increased speed settings. I haven't play it since FM2008 so I am not 100% if those are still the same.

Also setting the game speed to maximum/or 1 bar below max is pretty fast.

I realize I'm bumping this thread, but you can also go on Holiday through games and that simulates them with a few options. Generally your assistant manager is in charge.

    /Played since FM 2005
//I remember having the greatest team of all time back then
///Can you say picking up a young Fernando Torres on a free transfer from Atletico? I still have that savegame somewhere
