Very Interesting but i rather buy retail copies of games instead of downloading them from steam and its better because if you hate a game to can always return it to the store and get money back as long you have a recipt

    Very simple and common sense

EB games/Gamestop doesn't let you return PC games, pretty much as soon as the box is opened or seal is broken. They dont even accept PC games any more for trade-ins. On top of that the moment you register it with steam, you are stuck with it. So yeah this would be pretty much a last resort to get a refund.

Yes, but what happens when your disk degrades over time, even though you've taken care of it and never scratched it? Then when your computer breaks and you get a new one and you go to reinstall the game from the DVD the game installs up to 96% complete and then quits to the desktop and installation fails and you don't get to play Bioshock and you get angry but there's nothing you can do about it except buy it again because you can't download it again for free.

Er, not that anything like that has ever happened to me...

A lot easier to do a chargeback with a CC than to jump hoops with the BBB, and you take there valuable time away from valid corrupt business complaints.

Im pretty sure anybody that bought the game knew what they were getting before they got it, as we had plenty of coverages on the pros/cons of the game, so if you bought it knowing what to expect and you dont like it... tough luck.

i find it strange how you can run out nowadays and sue a company if the game "did not live up the hype of it's advertising".. like, if, any advertising ever would :)

other than that, unsatisfied with MW2? i mean.. it's a FPS, it's about killing and war, it's about modern warfare.. if one doesn't like that, don't buy it. it's not like it's anything special beyond that. it's pretty much what everyone should expect it to be. people are just too easily dissatisfied, and love to cry aloud..

I know the game is fine and it gets bashed and all but... seriously, lag is probably the LEAST of the complaints. People are mad by all the features left off, not just because sometimes you get lag.

Im sure something will be done about it, there is even a mod in the works that has the console working, and dedicated servers working for spec ops. Its only a matter of time.

Bottom line, as Vicious said, you knew what you were getting into before you bought it.

If people hate it for the PC so much, get it on a console...

No problems with cheats, no problems with servers, because if the host drops, the game auto finds the best host and migrates the game to them, so it doesn't stop the game.

I've got it for the 360 and the PC, i haven't tried MP on the PC yet though, so i can't comment on it, i'm addicted to it on the 360 though.

You can't install MW2 without registering it with Steam, and linking it with your account. Common knowledge, why don't you get caught up.

The problem with games is that you have NO OTHER RECOURSE. PERIOD. You buy it, you're stuck with it.

I also hate the fact that people say you should research more before you buy. It's a game for crying out loud. How much research should you do? Sometimes a game looks good to you, you've got $50 burning a hole in your pocket and have a free weekend to play a game so you buy it. Do you research the ruggedness of the jeans you buy or the thread stitching in that shirt before you buy it and get mad because it wears through in four or five weeks? It's one thing to research a new TV, something that costs a lot, and will own for a long time. But for a game that you plan on getting 10-20 hours out of and costs less than a tank of gas, it's an impromptu purchase for many.

I've been disappointed many times in the past even with games that got good reviews, but it had issues loading, or the servers were down most of the weekend, etc. So I paid $50 for a game that I was barely even able to play because of them, in my little free time I have.

I agree though if you frequent any gaming websites including this forum, that you'd be a little remiss in not knowing about the lack of dedicated servers or short single player.

Just make a way to return games, and this issue all goes away.

if they can figure out a way to tell if a game has been played and enjoyed, and if someone bought something that they honestly didn't expect and wouldn't have bought the software if they had known, i'm sure they'll be more than happy to give out refunds. there's really no way to enforce these kind of policy.

how easy would it be to buy a pc game, install and remove disc check, then return it back to the store.

I hate consumer ignorance; it's exactly what breeds things like MW2 - they're counting on people falling for the hype. In every walk of life, there are those who use prudence and research and those that just lap up from the media. How much research? Use good judgment and reasonable doubt. In the case of games it's the difference between the 'gamer' - those who are interested in all aspects gaming, from design, to technology, to gameplay - and the 'user' - those who use it like a dirty kleenex for a few hours then toss it away.

There's nothing wrong with a user being a user, but don't for a second think he's a gamer.
