Apparently D3 didn't make it onto the 2010 lineup, but Starcraft 2 and a WoW expansion might be able to tide you over.

Ya already knew it wasn't coming out in 2010 quite a while ago, so nothing new there.

WOW expansion looked good to me when announced, but i've gotten so bored of just the whole mechanic, feel, etc. that i'm letting my subscription run out sadly. But it held my attention for around the past 4 years which is good for any game imo.

SC 2......I cannot wait! But until thats released i'm biding my time with Borderlands and probably gonna pick up left 4 dead 2 (which i swore i wouldn't).

I know Blizzard makes some epic games, but come on now. Considering the games released these days with the shrunk time schedules, and end up being great, I don't see how the likes of StarCraft 2 can take so long. I thought they were in beta end of 2008. Even Starcraft ended up with a dozen patches anyhow.

It's great that a company is willing to let down customers slightly in order for bigger rewards down the road with a more polished product, but this is ridiculous.

Yea I saw this and sighed. Borderlands will have to tide me over for several years now I guess

 

I'd be excited for Starcraft 2 but I'm majorly turned off on the online play for RTS games. Ever since I started getting butt rushed in Warcraft 3 and Battle for Middle Earth II, I gave up on playing online (unless they're modded games).

So Starcraft 2 won't really tide me over that much and I don't play WoW (at least legally, and even that I stopped ). So I guess it's plain hard waiting (and playing MW2, U2, L4D2 and AC2, so many damn sequels).

 

Considering Starcraft 2 is supposed to be part 1 of a scheduled trilogy, looks like Blizzard/Activision had absolutely no choice but to get it out either this year or the next or risk their products cannibalising each other.

I personally won't mind the wait since I may well have a stronger PC to play the new Diablo with more eyecandy. I don't know if Blizzard can create another classic like its predecessor even with a new engine.

D3 could be a disappointment, just look at the monk gameplay videos, they went overboard with too many graphical effects.

 

Honestly i would be happy if they kept the original cast of characters and added new ones in d3.

 

I felt that the monk was a ridiculous character type to begin with.

 

aw i had good hope that D3 would be out in 2010....oh well i hear good things about SC2 but cant stand WOW....be cool if they replaced the WOW with D3....

Blizzard catches every complaint people make, so if the general consensus on the monk is that it's too much, they'll fix it, that's all they do, perfect the game for 4 years

And D3 isn't the same class as WOW, so don't get them mixed up. They both will have their share of the market. There's even a secret MMO coming in the future close (I would guess) to D3.

What do you mean overboard with graphical effects? There is a reason why Blizzard makes AAA titles and you don't.

 

Why do swords/sticks leave trails in the air when you swing them? Who do those swords think they are? Fighter jets?

Or when you hit a monster why is it's skin flashing like a rainbow? That monster isn't a unicorn btw.

Getting my diablo fix from Torchlight, man that game is smoothly made. Whether it'll have a similar experience online is a different question...

Hope that D3 is still run purely by blizz guys, would hate to have an announcement in 3 years time:

"D3 is £70; and to make gameplay more streamlined we removed cooperative play from battle.net as the game wasn't balanced for that"

Ah yes, and lets stick with 8-bit consoles because games like Modern Warfare 2 have too many graphical effects.

remember those guys who freaked out about the new engine that made a rainbow effect during the first few screenshots/videos? That was a wwwhile ago, I thought the whole graphics thing blew over already, but I guess not
