This is surely the greatest mod ever to be released for the Empire at War game, the depth, the amount of units, the changes to the gui (although some are cluncky)
Im getting my whooped in medium difficulty, I cant imagine when going on hard, I will only be able to burst in tears!
Im currently in the clone wars galactic conquest map, and I have to say that its incredible, the position of the planets has been redone, the expansion, the new maps, space and land, and off course the famous Foerost fleet! Just gotta a Pyhrric victory against them! I had 4 bombers, 8 missile corvettes, 5 light corvettes, 14 acclamator I frigates, 5 dreadnoughts and 2 Venators, I lost all the corvettes, 11 acclamators, all the dreadnoughts and the bombers. To a 5 Sabaoth Capital chips, 1 sabaoth carrier, 7 munificent frigates, and 8 frigates of the fannon universe and a level 3 space station, I didnt count the corvettes that the enemy lost, man that was one hell of a battle!!!!
The land battles are fast paced now, however due to the poor tech state that Im in, I couldnt get more specialized vehicles, like the at te and so forth.
The skirmish space battles are unbalanced right now, the addition of the fleet buildings, left the options to get high quality frigates right from the start (bulwark for the cis, and the victory I for the republic), in less than 5 min I can already have 2-3 of those, so making you build the space station less interesting
Its quite fast paced right now, it reminds me the agony of playing sc2 in multiplayer sometimes.

Ah man... I was actually monitoring this mod along with company of heroes modern combat on mod db, now I have to hunt up my discs....
BTW do you need forces of corruption to play this or not? -

Is the Zann Consortium available? Because that's my favourite faction haha (Starvipers and Buzz droids are indeed something). I'm assuming that in this Clone Wars timeline, the ZC aren't even amassed yet. What happens to the third faction then?

Its basically better to play as the cis, since they can rule the space far easier than the republic, well actually in my current republic campaign Im with only 2 fleets that can really engage the enemy, and those 2 are defending core planets (coruscant and Bespin) the rest of the planets I only own the land part, since acclamators are eaten by munificent frigates, the only worthwhile ship is the venator, and you can only build those when you reach tech lvl 5, and I always start at 1. So far I survived with some 5 planets lost and 3 semi conquered (I cant win the land battles, no matter what!) -
Oh my god. I just fired up Republic at War, and it's just amazingly gorgeous! Everything is spot on; music, videos, new voiceovers, sounds, sizes of capital ships, damage drawbacks (cap ships don't die as fast)! High resolution textures as well!
I need to play more!!!!! -

After spending several hours with this mod...
I have to say this is among the best mods I have ever played... right up there with desert combat with bf1942, dark forces mod, eastern front for company of heroes...
The only issue is are the slight balance issues in space, but other than that, it is an unbelievable mod... Zero thought of everything - awesome battleships, all the heroes, heroes for space, open circle fleet, even phase I and II clones (I have only really played republic so far). I just cannot really find a flaw, and it is very exciting to play.
I would not have minded shelling out $30 or so for this as an expansion pack.
The only thing bad about this is that it is on the empire at war engine - does not do it justice at all! -

the space section is problematic, in the next patch they said they will fix it, from the sound of it, the patch is already under testing
The problem is that if you are republic, and start at tech 1, you are going to go for a blood bath in the day 20-30, and the onslaught continues until you are done, or so they say, I have managed to be still alive, I dont put fleets on borders, but on key planets and plan my offensive way ahead, this way I still have 4 working fleets
The problem is that the republic is supposed to be bad in space at the start (in ground you can hold off the invasions quite easily with just 2-4 clone platoons, a barracks and a light vehicles factory)
Ground invasions are problematic, since I wasnt good at ground, but ruled the space, so to gain a planet I have to spend an entire army in tactical idiocies. -

But yeah I agree about the space battles...I really love space battles on Empire at War though, and tried desperately to defend my outer rim planets. I'm not a fan of ground battles though...although Yoda is pretty awesome by himself (map reveal and blaster deflections). -

yeah for me star wars was always more about the navy.
try to hold choke points of the hyperspace lanes, and to protect important planets like kuat, where the space station is actually needed.
for the rest, fill with troopers and factories, barracks so that you can still keep those, while your fleets keep on the attack
I have 4 fleets, 1 is in coruscant, 1 kuat, 1 kamino and 1 attacking where it hurts.
I have a semi fleet on bespin since that is the money maker planet for the republic, basically what is left of several attacks, mainly dreadnoughts and bombers (both are cheap to make and combined can hold 1 or 2 providence, provided that they attack fast and hard early, otherwise, Im overwhelmed by the fighter spam) -
Hehe just fired up a quick skirmish game and FINALLY managed to build a "pride of the core" ship - they are freaking HUGE!!
Btw is it just me, or does empire at war run very poorly on win7 64 bit... -

it just runs the same for me on vista or xp, since I had to get the steam version of it (my cds were scratched, after the 5th attempt you kind of lose your patience)
