Didn't install it yet. I downloaded it to the USB external with my ATI laptop (which I'm on right now). ;) :)

If this driver doesn't give me random blue screens like others I've tried, I'll be happy........ :D

ok i'm having a bit of a problem...

Whenever I extract the driver to my desktop to make a folder, it just extracts all the files onto my desktop, not creating a separate folder for it....any suggestions?

lol...i thought i'd tried that after i posted...so i did it...followed the process noted here http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9243 and i got BSODs...i just got back doing a system restore...but quick question...where is says "Original INF only supports" and it gives a chart of certain cards, does that chart mean there's no need to replace the old INF with the modded INF?

EDIT: k..that first attempt was using the Setup.exe method of installation...just did it a second time using the Have-Disk method...another BSOD situation...

thanks flamenko...but in my first attempt, i did it that way, got the BSOD, and had to do a system restore...I made sure to do things step by step, but still had the unfortunate result...i'll be researching it a bit more as i really want to update my driver from Forceware 97.59 to current...

Warning avoid these drivers at all costs...

Multiple forums are reporting as much as 50% FPS drops in a majority of games and crashing issues. (I'm not sure what went wrong with these drivers, but something sure did...)

yep dont use em, i never had the infamous 8600M GT stuttering thing, but with these drivers I get that and other weird stuff like screen going crazy as if its broken during games.

switched back to 163.67 everything is perfect again

I never tested the 71's just jumped from .44 to 74. These are beta drivers from what I gather so I'm sure they will get better. :D I can't complain about things running better in DX10 though.

wow dx 10 really runs faster than dx 9? If thats so, it'll be quite the turnaround for the 8 series nivida line. Anymore benchmarks to prove this?

You can just install the drivers right after you used driver cleaner in safe mode, which saves a bit of time. ;)

They have GDDR3 memory, as opposed to he DDR2 memory in most 8600M GT's, which allows them to be clocked higher.

Yeah they don't have the Vista 32 bit version of 163.71 up anymore because apparently NVIDIA included the wrong INF or something.
