Well, I wasn't going to wait to download the demo last night as I didn't have time so I figured I'd go buy it. Got it for $40 at Circuit City after school and work. I haven't installed it yet, but I am pretty stoked. It will be the first true test of my rig in a DX10 environment. You can expect some screenshots!![]()

I pre DL'ed it on steam. i just spent the last 3 ish hours playing it. It isn't as free as i had hoped, but it seems like life could have taken place there. So far i think its pretty good.
-
dang i wanna get the game.... but first i gotta wait for the laptop to arrive Xo
-
I've ordered it (after playing the demo), but it gets released the 24th in sweden.
-
You know I'm right there with you on this one mark! I tried to pick up the PC CE as a walk-in, but no luck. So I had to get the regular version. I was gonna get it for the 360, but why waste such a powerful pc on the internets and such?
-
I could stille get the collectors edition, but it isn't realy worth the extra $30
-
-
In sweden. The game (regular version) will cost me $50. Which is the regular price for games. Everything computer related is 30% more expensive in sweden.

i got the limited edition for CAD$79.99....damn the big daddy figurine is cool!!!
-
got the 40 dollar deal at CC. had some headaches getting it to run, only to find out that it was because full screen mode + DX10 didn't mix..so I have to run it at DX9. pfff
Other than that, it's cool so far -
DX9 and DX10 doesn't really look different and perform similarily right now.
-
Which makes you wonder if it works at all.....

I have been running in DX9 as well. Still looks pretty great.
Anyways, I am glad I got the game. It is pretty fun so far. Very different than the typical shooter. I think they did a great job of doing controls to switch between weapons and other abilities as well. I also like the different ammo types. -
i got it today. very fun

The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
I heard the game ends up being using the plasmids more then weapons, and its always more like why not just use plasmids to kill more easily, that true?
-
Hey are you guys really able to experience the true power of DX10 in Bioshock ????
Is it worth gettina DX10 card like 8700M GT instead of 7950GTX...are the effects that great as evrybdy is makin it out to be?????
I asked this cause I am in a dilemna of which one to get (sorry for goin off course....) -
I use plasmids to stun enemy's then either the shotty, machine gun, and pistol with the clip mod
-
I got the Limited Edition today from gamestop. I havn't been able to play much though because I got my 1520 today as well. BIG DAY FOR ME! The action figure is HEAVY! I showed it to my mother and her exact words, "You could kill someone with this."
-
@The Forerunner: you can use plasmids only if you wish to play that way. but I think you'll be running out of EVE fast, too fast in the early parts of the game I think. sooner or later you'll haveta switch to a gun/wrench to kill someone
@cynozure007: I don't think you can experience the true power of DX10, you get some more textures that do make things like the water/fire look alot nicer. But all in all you haveta pay reallly close attention to see it. I think Crysis might be the first game to be in separate versions (dx9 or dx10).
Just bought this today, haven't even fought a Big Daddy yet, but I love the atmosphere and the lighting, makes it more creepy how the lights flicker. -
Bought today, pretty cool.
Forget the demo, who bought Bioshock today!
