Forza Horizon 3 PC Thread (Performance/Issues/UWP)

Lets talk about the new game in M$ store.

Prices :
Xbox One only : 49 euros
PC Code (also Xbox One) : 69 euros

Guess what ? It doesnt work properly on quad because of their HEAVY encryption technique on files..

i bought the standard edition cos i can't justify the cost of playing early.

i did get a free code for the Halo warthog to be drivable in the game though which is cool.

 

it's too expensive to buy, especially if it lags with a 970M, 69 euros !

Look at this stuttering ! damn only a 1080 can run this perfectly -_- Good Job M$ !

 

chucked a few settings to a mix of med and high and i do get the occasional fps drop.

also, there are times where it feels like 30fps when it says 60fps.

uninstalled avast AV because it was causing it to crash badly.

 

They said you may have to lower CPU priority and disable Core 0 affinity to get proper FPS

 

Xbox one runs high settings 1080p MSAA 4X with an APU and a boosted 7790 GCN, and meanwhile a 970 is dying at medium 1080p no msaa with a 2500K at 4Ghz ?
Man.. I'm not buying this, I intended to but man.. It's almost quantum break all over again !

 

If a laptop with the 8-core i7-6700HQ 2.6Ghz and a GTX 1060 can't handle this game properly, I might not buy it aswell. Although I was too hyped.
Hopefully later patches and updates will fix the issues.

 

4 core plus hyper threading you mean but yeah, 1060 can barely handle high 1080p60

i can't even get a stable 60fps at 900p on medium. dunno if there's something in the OS, the hardware, or the game??!!?!

 

Ugh I didn't like the video. I agree that it is basically lying to say that the game performs great on both XBO and PC when a low end product like the XBO runs better than more powerful hardware on PC.

And I hate it when it becomes a sell point to say "you can play at 60fps". I don't want just 60fps. Let me play uncapped at the framerate I need/want. The pop in is terribly noticeable even at max settings. Why is this game getting praised as if it looked better than real life, with all those consistent graphical issues, low performance and capped framerate?

And on top of it, W10 exclusive and requires the xbox app anyways. I was curious about this game, but I will definitely skip it as it is.

Word my friend. It infuriates my when 60fps gets touted like it's the gold standard of gaming for all.
I'd actually like to pick up this game but not if it's capped to 60fps.

 

oh it isn't, i can reach up to my screen's max of 75fps if i unlock it - so yeah it's not capped.

the only problem i have is hitching...and it doesn't matter if i use the full 75fps or 38fps of my screen - there's always hitching.

also, capping at the driver level via nvidia inspector makes the experience even worse with crappy framepacing issues.

 

That's good to know. Just to be clear I was referring about games in general - usually console ports.

 

fair enough. it feels fine at the half fps rate with a little more fps stability over running it at 75fps. not sure if Gsync is playing up here.

 

What a load of crap. I was trying out horns, and then it says "purchase horn"... it's real money to purchase the horns ($2.99 in fact!). I cancel and it CTD's. What a load of crap.

 

this game doesn't like being capped via nvidia inspector and it seems to run really good if your screen is exactly 60fps and anything higher it feels like it's gonna jump even more.

i might have to get a stock 16:9 monitor and see if it's better than the gsync display i have in the laptop.

the correct price for that thing !

 

the game (among GOW4 and others) are 35-40% off on bestbuy.com (for usa : 39$, and yes you cant buy it in usa currency, even with VPN).
