This game is almost here if you've bought the Ultimate Edition with its 3-day headstart on other editions. But with the demo available it gave me something to be a bit concerned about: how the game is using the CPU.

    FH3 CPU usage
    [IMG]

    FM7 CPU usage
    [IMG]

As you can see FM7 is using 1 thread of my 6700K while FH3 is equally distributing over all 8 threads. I hope it gets addressed.

Forza 6 Apex behaved in exactly the same manner. That was considered their beta so at this stage I'm unhopeful it will be fixed if it hasn't already been.

It's hard to say which is better - if you're using VR, wheel and pedals, more purist racing then it's PC2 easy.
If you just want a really good car game designed around a controller and also has modding and nice sim feel.. then F7.
Personally even though I'm using a controller still, I prefer the PC2 engine as it factors in more sim elements and racing strategies.
But Forza 7 gets the modding and has such a good feel to it.
Get both is your a sim/racing nut. Get Forza if you're a car nut.

forza7 = ms store & uwp. No way even if it was the best game in the world.
People complain about bga crap, and i see ms store as something as bad. It's litteraly the worst **** you can imagine for pc gaming. Everything locked and dependant of MS, no mods, no sli, worst support ever.

Buying this game = supporting MS policy.

Hmm yeah well you won't hear too many counter arguments from me there.
Guilty as charged. Historically I'd buy their crappy console just for this game and nothing else. So to that end I'm reducing my footprint :p

Oh. You forgot to mention secure boot.

Are you sitting inside my brain dude? you literally stole the words out of my mouth!

Even if they had the best game in history to offer, as long as its from the Micro$h4ft store, I won't touch it.

I hope @Mr. Fox agrees with me

You know I do, my dear Brother @Phoenix. I only allowed it for Gears of War 4, and now wish I had not. Everything from Windows Store is rubbish. All of the apps are crap. I wish it were illegal for them to have any UWP game filth. UWP blows. Any game released through Windows Store would be a better product if it were not. The XBOX app is also trash. I love Gears of War (old and new) but not enough to like UWP feces.

They definitely dumbed down the sim engine. Even from F6 Apex it's more arcadie - abit like Horizon. Wet weather is ok, but I've been spoilt from PCs for a long time which takes things like clean and dirty racing lines into account.
That and they've gone a poonced it up with a Codemasters style career mode - I've got some knob telling me what to do every screen.. urrggh.
Apart from that it's a solid game and despite my criticism I do like it.My only wish is the sim was a little more hardcore. I'll have to fill that void with PC2.

The problem for me is that, being a non-hardcore driver / racing sim guy, it's difficult to get into Project Cars because the controls with even the slightest twitch will send the car out of control and that's with all assists on and the difficulty set to novice (like I said, not really hardcore into it). Turning was most difficult for me in Project Cars.

Forza does dumb it down to where it's managable and fun. It's fine in Forza Horizon 3 because they want you do drift, draft, slide, do burnouts and donuts. Forza Motorsport 7 not so much but for me at least I can work with it.

I found the BAC Mono's good cars to start learning on with aids off. They behave predictably going past the limit and are a lot of fun too. The Toyota 86 too and F3 too.

Has anyone had any problems with being banned multiple times by turn10?
I reluctantly got an xbox1 when the last forza was out. I've actually played and have owned all of them from the first xbox. Problem is they kept banning me over and over until I just stopped playing xbox. I dont use a headset or any provocative paints I make my own single color combos. They dont discuss bans so I have no evidence what exactly is going on. From what I have pieced together (I'm a top 1% leader board driver), driver clans can mass report other drivers and once an individual gets enough points against them they are banned no ifs ands or buts.

It's partially fixed with the future reversal of the new VIP system.

FH3 is good different you just like the idea of getting into a supercar and going for a drive.

Yeah, it reminds me a lot of Need For Speed Underground with the open-world racing aspect. I played the absolute hell out of that game, back in the day. FH3 is pretty fun so far. It's like Super-Rich Car Enthusiast Simulator 2016 haha
