Hey my g53 has been acting weird lately and I think the problem is related to Windows 7 (Home) as I vaguely remember seeing an error saying that something was taking its performance yada yada (I know I should have paid more attention to it) but now I cant find that message anymore..

anyway, back to the problem now that the backstory is there. I play a couple games that before I could run no problems maxed out at 60fps. SMNC, TF2, and Dragon Nest are the games I play but since that error message popped up my fps in these games has been alternating between 30 to 60 fps and i know its related to my OS (not because of the error) becase it reverted my Theme to the original stock Windows 7. I can temporarily fix the problem if I restart but other than that I'm lost.

Not sure if right subforum to post but since its affecting my gaming, I figured it was this :/

Also, my temps are well within safe range.

its not enabled, not on any of them. Also vsync wouldnt mess with my Windows 7 theme/wallpaper. It removed my wallpaper and loaded the stock theme

check your driver settings in addition to the game settings.

yeah basically if you are playing a game, windows will say oh you need to use the normal settings for the theme and then it tells you a few times, and if you click it on accident it will just set it to stock non aero windows. now your problem with the game switching between 30 and 60 fps is probably due to a janky driver, try reinstalling the driver with a clean install and i think that should do the trick.
