Hi I wanted to know how many fps do you get on a 32 players server all maxed out with the new gtx 980m at CS GO?
Please

Came here to say the exact thing. -
i've got gtx 780m and I am not getting over 130fps...I am thinking to upgrade to gtx 980m...so I am asking if someone try CS go, without jocking!
-
If CS Go is all you care about I don't know why you want to upgrade. Your display cannot handle 130fps (most likely it can't handle more than 60) so you are just wasting GPU power and frames. Most likely it's the CPU that's the limit for 32 player servers and a better GPU won't help you there. Even if you managed to get more FPS it won't give you any competitive advantage whatsoever.
-
How do you get under 130fps in CSGO? My min FPS (I play forcing it to one card) is somewhere around 150, usually averaging 200+.
BUT then again CS:GO is coded like a bucket of upper level feces, so I totally understand the low FPS you might be having. I had that one day too. Restarted the PC and it was fixed. No other games have that problem. -
For playing on 128 tick servers one needs 128fps or higher to take full advantage. It's like how CoD needs to run at 125fps to perform optimally. Has nothing to do with the display.flamy likes this.
-
5v5 I have over 150, but when I play 32 players map...it get's around 100...
You say that 60 fps is max my screen can reproduce...and my eye can capture only max 30..so why you can see better when they are over 30?
Like D2 Ultima is saying 128 tick needs more then 128...So 980m? how many? -
Turn off the HUD. Your FPS will skyrocket. Because it's Scaleform.
-
If I turn off HUD I will not have radar, crosshair, amunition, life...nothing...Do you think that helps?
-
Please don't.
-
It's just a test to see if it helps. The great thing about CS:GO is, unlike most games, it has a wealth of HUD customization options. Maybe start with tweaking transparency/opacity and go from there. There are probably a lot of other HUD elements you can simplify or disable to increase performance without affecting playability.
firebearhero comments on Autodesk Scaleform HUD update, the cause massive stutter/fps/performance problem since Arms Deal?
BTW here is me getting an 81% FPS boost in PlanetSide 2 from disabling HUD: on off
PS2 uses Scaleform for its UI as well.Last edited: Jan 3, 2015 -
I like what you are saying, but I dont know anyone that diminuated the hud...and not distroy the game...
-
So, come back to my question, did somebody with gtx 980m...can say how many fps have? 32 players all max out?
-
I think the main problem is your CPU.. You should get a 4810MQ or something..

i7 5960K? -
Clock speed and IPC, not more cores. Source Engine can only take advantage of 3 threads per Mike Durand, ex-Valve dev. And DX9 so single render thread. A sufficiently clocked i3 can drive any GPU in Source games just fine without bottlenecking. And there are vastly diminishing returns above 3 GHz on any modern Core i CPU.

anyone with gtx 980m?

I was going for extreme... -
Why are you spamming this? I already told you that my single 780M can do it, and you should know that a 980M is almost as good as 780M SLI. If your FPS drops, then it's the game which is broken, and I already said it was very poorly coded. If you have baseline performance with a 780M, a 980M will improve on it entirely.
-
Then you need to go for 5960X Extreme Edition.
-
I told you, your single gtx 780m on a server with 32 players all max out cant handle 150 fps...in the description 5v5 it can reach 194fps...but when there are 32 players...it's other thing.
-
Why the hell are you even playing 32-player CS? Is this mfkin' CoD to you? #FilthyCasual
-
I play dm and competitive servers....I dont play mm anymore...that's why there are 32
-
Really Octiceps? One minute you say more you need more clock speed and next minute your'e saying that a core i3 is enough.. make up your mind.. My suggestion is perfectly reasonable IMO..

He said an overclocked i3, not standard. -
Really, TomJGX? I said a "sufficiently clocked i3." I made no mention of whether it was a desktop or laptop chip. FYI there are desktop i3's clocked at almost 4 GHz stock, which is more than enough to drive any single high-end GPU (already overkill) in CS:GO.
And no, your suggestion of upgrading a 4700 to 4800 is not reasonable. It's money down the drain for CS:GO. I also said "there are vastly diminishing returns above 3 GHz on any modern core i CPU." A max clocked 4800 is 3.9 GHz vs. 3.4 GHz on a 4700. 500 MHz, whoop dee doo what a massive difference.
Next time, read and try to comprehend, please.
Fps cs go with gtx 980m?
