I was doing a google search on it and I read someone was able to use it 10 times! not sure how much truth there is to that but I was able to do it 3 times. once within the desktop client, once using IE and once using chrome. Im sure itll work if i use more browsers.

Thanks for posting this deal. I never bought any games from Origin except Battlefield 3. I got these four games with this deal...

It's odd that some people are able to use it more than once while others aren't. Oh well, I can't complain too much about getting a free game from one of the greediest publishers around lol. I'm tempted to make another account and try again, but I'd hate to get a ban on both accounts if ea decided to pursue people for it.

Tried to use the code for the 3rd time, but it is invalid now, darn, wanted to get Red Alert 3 too :)

Oh well, can't really complain, free Dead Space 1 and 2 :)

Now if Origin client wouldn't freeze my G73 during Dead Space 2 download, that would be really nice -_-

    Found a guide

    Go to Origin (Without log-in)
Choose a Game from this list
    Apply the Discount Code OS3874XVC
Delete the game from the cart.
    Login now
Search the game again and "buy" it for 0$.
Wait for the order confirmation email and of course, the game.

Can somebody get Armored Kill for me? It would be greatly appreciated :)

I like how the article mentions as it hit Reddit, the looting began.
That's why I stay away from that crowd. It's a shame the abuse happened; probably won't see another promo by Origin in the near future.

I don't know why they wouldn't offer another promo. They screwed up. All they had to do was generate unique one-use codes.

This wasn't EA screwing the customers, this was the customers screwing EA.

Reddit is huge, so it's no wonder that all turns to [word that rhymes with hit] once it hits that level of traffic. From that point on, it's just statistics and basic human behavior unfortunately.

I like Reddit for what it's worth, but can see where you're coming from if all you've seen is the terrible, terrible default frontpage. To me Reddit is more like what Usenet was in that large parts of it are filled with abusive teens and people that post nothing but dumb memes and imgur images. The simple trick is to unsubscribe from all the default subreddits (forums) and seek out the smaller niche ones that are moderated by adults (there are many great places to discuss sports for instance).

I never said EA was screwing the customers, just that EA screwed up by issuing an unlimited use code for $20 off. It doesn't take more than a monkey to realize it would be abused.

And if you want to get your cheap games from a far less spammy source, check out /r/GameDeals/ on Reddit or the CAG forums.

I just glanced at it, how's it spammy? And I'm familiar with cheapassgamer, been there a bunch of times. I've never noticed a deal like 60% off pretty much everything on origin there before.

Perhaps spammy is not quite the right word. I personally just strongly detest low effort, heavily search engine optimized coupon sites that are nothing but hidden referral links. This type of site is the reason that Google is broken for certain keywords and they are all just basically lazily slapped together Wordpress-sites solely aimed at generating a quick buck for the site's owner.

I see no reason to visit a site like that when you can get the exact same information minus the icky referral links from somewhere like the GameDeals subreddit. It'll also get you things like user reviews, DRM information and timely updates when/if the deal changes.
