Come on people sign up and represent NBR for the free weekend Beta gameplay.
-
Signing up!
Not sure if my desktop will handle it well, but I'm very curious about this game. -
Signed up, wanting to see how my desktop handles it(considering I haven't done much besides WoW heh...)
-
No official minimum requirements list yet but here are some guides Can you run it, with Age of Conan http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest and this from their site, requirements don't seem high. http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=33628

I signed up last night. Here's hoping I get in!
I want to try it both on my laptop and quadcore 64-bit desktop.
If AoCHA turns out to be the game as promised then I'm saying my farewells to WoW. -
it's 35 gigs btw.
-
-
-
I registered.
Woo! I hear they re-enabled nipples in the US release, thank god!
-
The game is huge, I don't if this portion of it is necessarily that big, but don't expect something small.
I know the beta is 30 or 35 gigs. (Regular one) -
I don't expect it to be small... WoW alone is over 10 gigs (or roughly so). -
So if anyone actually gets in to the beta please post your AoC toon name so we can meet up and PvP one another.
-
And I think this dude said that you need over 30 gigs just to install, then you can slim down to 25g like he did.
Plus the game installs off 2 DVD's. -
-
Thanks for the sceenie... Thats from a current beta tester? -
Can somebody give me a link to the registration pls?
My browser is acting up again..
The link where you sign in for the gamespot account... -
I got my beta key a little over a week ago. This was actually suppose to happen last sunday but got postponed to this Sunday.
Just so everyone knows this isn't a whole weekend of free AoC. It's a stress test that's lasting 3hrs starting at 5pm EST.
As far as the download goes it's only 13GB. I tried downloading it via torrent, 12hrs later sitting at 30%. I immediately canceled the download and started downloading via http. I was getting a solid 900kb/s downloading by this method. Much much faster then via torrent (50-100kb/s).
hope this info helps. -

If anyone gets into this weekend's PvP stress test beta Funcom have extended the session by an additional 24 hours!
-
The download is supposedly 6.9GB, the install 26GB (according to the Gamespot Test forum). It has been extended 1 extra day as mentioned! Everyone gets a bump to level 20 to fight in PvP. The other 3 hour test mentioned earlier is something different.
It runs very well on a base P-6831FX (1.83 GHz CPU version). If the NDA will allow framerates (and I get into the PvP test), I will post some from PvP action.
The invites are being staggered with some people in the last batch actually getting invites tomorrow instead of today. This is to help their download servers. -
-
im so looking forward to this game, only 4 weeks until release : D
i wonder if my 1730 can handle it on med/high O.O -
well, I've got my key. downloading at the moment. what downloadspeeds are you getting?
-
it wont download for me
torrent speeds are way to slow and the files from the site just wont download
-
Go 7950GTX & 8700M GT probably High 1440x900. -
GameSpot Download Manager is not working for me. I get an error no matter which file I try to download... They should've hosted the beta with somewhere else...
-
Yes, the Gamespot Downloader isn't working well. I was only able to get one of the four zips downloaded. There is a link to a Funcom downloader in the AoC Beta Forum you can use. It seems to work a lot better. However I kicked off the download @ 9pm last night and this morning when I checked at 7:30 a.m. it was 33.9% complete! Yeesh!
-
I didn't get a key!

here is the link to the Funcom downloader http://rapidshare.com/files/108207123/aocpvp20080415.zip

Whooooo hoooooo!!!
Just got my key! Kinda late considering it opens in a few hours. -
But like all other new mmorpgs, the servers are so loaded and logins hammered that you cant login :/ key is useless at the moment.
-
According to the official age of conan forums, funcom has given 5000 extra keys for gamespot to give away.

Lucky people.
Let us know how it is if it isn't against any disclosure acts or such.

Well I guess their test failed!!!! Poor planning having every one download the game the day before play. They should cancel it till next weekend so everyone can have a chance to download it. Just looked at their forum and it looks like a big failure, most getting 20kb to 40kb if they can even connect at all.
-
I agree that FC should have issued the download at least a week before the actual beta starts. They are not going to get the player numbers they need for an accurate test due to faulty download schemes and people either giving up or missing the date completely.
I will be commenting on this when I submit my beta report at the end of the session. When the game launches live they had better have more servers in place! -
Yeah a week would have been nice, I bet only 20%-35% will be playing, alot of people who used Gamespots 4 step download got to 99% and the download froze, man I would have been so mad!!
-
Stop complaining, my ISP doesn't even allow me to download it
-
+1 rep for you for the neutrality link in your sig. That's cool & I signed. -
I got a key. Downloading at 20kb/sec.
Yea, it'll be a while.... -
-
Where? On GameSpot?
-
I posted a link on the previous page.
-
I'm not sure of the total time but when I got home today the client was finished in downloading using the Funcom utility. So my estimate for the 6.8GB file is roughly 20 hours or under. I am now installing and we'll see how it goes.
