I never played Freelancer much in the past, but would like to give it shot since it seems to have longevity and still a significant fan base.
Would you recommend playing it as original with 1.1 patch or with TNG 2.7.6 patch?
Thanks.

There are lots of patches for it. Some online servers have their own. It is such a great game...I wish there was a game that matches its funness.
Single player wise I'd play with original.

Actually, I wish there was a patch which allowed the player to advance beyond the level limit for the final storyline missions.
It would be so nice to walk into those final fights with the hidden weapons and higher-end ships you spend so long exploring for...
Anyone know if there is such a patch?
And yes, freelancer is one of my all-time favorites. -
Is it best to play online or single player?

Idea: NBR Freelancer group?
I will have to pick up a cheap copy somewhere as I have lost mine long ago.
