Wouldn't using that on console games make them ridiculously easy? If you have both a mouse and "aim assist", wheres the fun? :p

I agree darkness62 those were the days. I had a nice boot screen with XMS enabled or EMS enabled. The best I got when tweaking the startup alone was 630k out of 640k max, that is pretty good in my opinon that was with the soundcard enabled and lot of other stuff too.

c'mon, really? I was barely a school-aged kid back on DOS and the only hard part I remember was whether to start Commander Keen through "run.bat" or "keen.exe". Half the games already came with himem.sys and all necessary system files as part of the install. Heck, I had TSR's running behind Prince of Persia so I could use "hacks" and I by far wasn't "techie" at the time.

I think it boils down to a life attitude. Where some want the quick fix and push-a-button access, others are inquisitive and want to know how things work; they aren't afraid to read the manual, or experiment, or spend the time on a Wiki page, even if it means they don't get what they're looking for right that instant. Delayed gratification. Like McDonalds and fastfood have cultivated a culture of the lazy and obese, I think consoles are doing the same to our technological culture. I know half the console kids today wouldn't look at a computer twice if they knew they had to type more than a single letter into a terminal.

I started out gaming on Nintendo consoles then fell in love w/ pc gaming thanks to Half-Life and Starcraft. Then I got back into consoles and then maybe two years ago got back into PC gaming. I love it. But I've decided to go back to a MBP so most of my gaming may be back on 360.. lol back and forth

I just bought a gaming laptop brand new for $709 shipped. I cant play the latest games on max settings but it gets the job done to my satisfactory. COD4 MW2 1440x900 settings on medium, looks pretty and is really smooth 60+fps. I wish i had spent the extra $150 and got the 25% faster processor and video card. The point is you dont have to spend $2500 on a laptop to play games.

I think others have good points that laptop is more useful then a console. A gaming laptop can wear many hats were a console cannot. I will not switch to a console for two reasons. 1.) no mouse and keyboard support. 2.) playing from a couch with a wireless mouse/keyboard is no substitute for a wired mouse/keyboard/L-shape desk (i play to win, and playing on a couch is a handicap)

Lol no silly, it was the list of preparations you make I was poking fun at that you "needlessly" disregarded in your smarta55 "argumentative" reply. :p *holds up middle finger*

Or maybe you have a medical condition that only admits selective memories or can only hold 5 seconds of content or skips whole phrases you yourself write? /end sarcasm

I bet if you upgrade that cpu you will be able to play mw2 much better. I played it with all of the settings turned up with 2xaa @ 1440x900 and stayed well above 60 FPS.
