Fronlines Fuel of War Major problems

Ok, I bought this game 2 days ago and have had nothing but problems, appears It was released with huge glitches. The game would not start, mostly but not limited to the retail bought game, after install it would not run, after 2 days they released a patch I installed it and same thing game would not start, I disabled IDT Highdef Audio game started and ran but froze every 15sec. plus I had 0 internet connection. I finally regained internet only after uninstalling the game. I 'am not the only one with this problem most everyone who bought is in the same situation, just read this forum http://community.kaosstudios.com/showthread.php?t=5417&page=36 Avoid this game for now!!!

 

it runs for me though I did have cd key issues when playing. Sorry didn't have any of the problems you described. Yeah they did no do a good job testing the game before release.

I have to say this is the buggest game of the year. Major problems at launch is just unacceptable. For those that pre-order the game, this is a rip-off.

FWIW, if you can get it running (sorry to those that can't) it is a fun game. But hopefully they sort out the bugs so you can all enjoy it!

The patch doesn't work, tried yesterday before I posted this thread, my results were with the patch. Yeah, I agree, unacceptable amount of bugs and i too had an initial problem of crashing at launch, but then tried again and it started up.... got it off Steam, and i temp disabled my ESET security suite, and it ran fine, actually ran really well... 1440x900 and set to HIGH, had a lot of fun on the first mission, was actually really impressed and played great.... haven't had time to play it too much, but what i did play was really fun.

 

Seems like the downloaded versions don't have as many problems as cd version. They are talking about a hotfix sometime today. Yeah seems like a very fun game.

Ok, after reinstall and patches and hotfixes I finally got this game to work, and its very fun and has unique features. It should be very easy to run for most video cards, 8600GT should run it very well. I have the game at highest possible settings at 1440x900 and it's mostly in the 50-60fps area, about the same as UT3 for me. Three of the screenshots show the drone flying then exploding taking out the bad guys, it's very easy to control.




Click on movie at the bottom of page something new movie wise lets see if it works,it's a movie I made during game play, shows how the drone works.

 

How many servers are there currently? Are they populated? How many players do you estimate are online?

 

Haven't tried the servers yet finally got this game to work properly, it should be well supported and populated but they are having lots of server bugs right now, which I'am sure they will iron out. I'll do the single player first to get the hang of the game then the multi-player, hopefully the servers will be going strong by then. Cool the video works!

 

Hey, glad to hear ya got it workin! I've had great success with it, having a blast with it myself, about halfway through the singleplayer I'd guess.... and I freakin love those drones! The helicopters with rockets, the exploding hover glider, little exploding RC cars, all done really well in my opinion!

Is it a SP or just multi, cause it looks tempting

 

Both SP and Mplayer as well. Although my only reason to get it was to play with friends on 360(live)...yeah I know, but most of my friends are non pc gamers.

 

That does look fun... But i think ima wait a little longer for the price to drop and for more bugs to get fixed. Also, a little off topic, does anyone recommend me getting this or quake wars, since I can buy QW for so cheap now? Or just get both? Or get QW now then FFoW later?

 

Both. There will always be patches and updates to take care of problems.

i debating if i should get it, does the multiplayer have longeveity?

 

This game is primarily intended for online purposes. So you should expect a lot more in multiplayer than singleplayer.

Has anybody been online yet? I still want to know how many active servers and players there are.

I am waiting for the online demo to come out next Monday, and if I like it, I will pick it up at Circuit City for a rumored $30.

 

From what I've been told, its just BF2 with better graphics and some new toys. Other than that, people tell me there's no point in getting it? You guys who have play BF2 as well?
