I just updated my graphics drivers, and now whenever i start up a game, its not full screen. On the left an right end of the screen, there is about an inch of black, so the game isn't quite full screen. How do i fix this? In the shortcut options I selected run maximized, but it's not helping.

Check game graphics settings, make sure the resolution is in widescreen resolution: 16:9 or 16:10

    See list of widescreen resolutions:

Then perhaps you are playing old games that do not support widescreen resolutions, in that case, go into your graphics card driver setting, and change the resolution scaling to full screen or something like that, this would stretch your 4:3 stand resolution and occupies left/right black bars.

I did that, but still nothing.
Btw, I wouldn't consider Dead Space an old game.

Well, you didn't say exactly which game you are having issue with in the first place did you?

Dead Space has widescreen resolutions, I don't have that game, but I would assume you should be able to change the resolution aspect ratio in advanced settings somewhere.

And another thing. Before I updated my drivers, all of my games fit the screen, so no black spaces. But when I update, I got my issue

could right click the game executable, Properties > Compatibility and select option Disable display scaling... just a try. but it might stretch the game wide-ish.
