Here is a fun idea I came up with. Starting /wthe earliest games come up with a list of all the games you've played and completed since that time. As an option you can state what years you played them in and how long you played them for. Hopefully these will bring back some memories, feel free to comment on the games of others :"Oh yea i remember that game that was awesome!". Ill start:
Star Wars Rebel Assault II - The Hidden Empire - 1997
Red Alert - 1997-1998
Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark forces II - 1998
Age of Empires 2 - 1999
Mario 64 - 1997-1999
Zelda: OoT - 1998-1999
Donkey Kong 64 - 1999
Banjo Kazooie - 1998-1999
Goldeneye - 1998-1999
Starcraft - 1999-2000
Final Fantasy VII - 2000
Red Alert 2 - 2000-2001
Final Fantasy VIII - 2001
Diablo II - 2001-2002
Warcraft 3 - 2003-2005
Oblivion - 2006
Titan Quest - 2006
Command and Conquer 3 - 2007
The Witcher - 2007
PS: Half Life 2 isn't on here because I never got around to actually finishing it -.- , probably will over Christmas.
EDIT: If you feel like your list would be too long limit it to the games you enjoyed the most.
-
honestly, my list would be so freaking long and there would be no way i could remember them all. ive had about 50 games for each console i have owned...
-
Yeah, if I listed all the "Sim" games it could take awhile. I'll leave off the most minor ones. Dates are approximate. All are for PC.
Oregon Trail II, 1996 - 2003
Logical Journey of the Zoombinis, - 1997 - 2000
Railroad Tycoon II, - 2000 - 2003; sporadically thereafter

Now I must go switch my skill training because EveMon is yelling at me. -
I tried making a collection list of all the games I've owned on Gamespot once.....did not work out at all....

Better idea: post the games you played in 2007!
- America's Army
- Oblivion
- Supreme Commander
- UT2004
- CS:Source
- Half Life 2 Deathmatch
And no more I think... -
No way I can give a complete list, I would start with Pong!
If I would list some of the most important games for me I would talk about:
F19 Stealth Fighter (Commodore 64)
SubLogic Flight Simulator (PC). Yeah, before Microsoft. Those games hooked me to flight sims to this day.
I've beem a member of a virtual fighter squadron in the online sim Warbirds since 1997, aproximately, so Warbirds must be cited, although today is a rather obsolete flight sim.
Diablo II almost transformed me into a video vegetable.
Longbow 2 was the sim I played that felt most realistic to me of all others. I really wish there was a Longbow 3 in production. -
Super Nintendo:
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Illusions of Gaia
Sim city
Super Mario All stars
I have 800+ SNES games on my PC
PC (no particular order)
Starcraft
Jedi Knights: Dark Forces II

Star Wars: Rogue squadron
Halo
Every NFS past 2001
Counter Strike

Star Wars: Battlefront
Jane's WWII fighters

Can't remember the rest -
I dread to think how long the list would be if I listed every computer game I ever played. I started on a B&W TV games machine, then Atari 2600, ZX81, Acorn Electron, BBC Model B, ColecoVision (with laser disk), Toshiba MSX, C64, Sinclair Spectrum, BBC Master, Archimedes, Amiga, Atari ST, various flavours of PC starting with 386 SX, SNES, PS One.
To be honest I've not had the oh my god my brain is going to melt this is so amazing feeling since I played Dragons Lair on the ColecoVision for the first time. But I guess age might have a big part to play in that! -
I hear you sasanac.
I feel the same to some extent. There's hasn't been a lot of "wow, holy s*** this game is so amazing I'm gonna explode". Descent 2 with a Monster 3D card floored me the first time though. I remember thinking 3D gaming was just a big "gimmick" -
There's VERY few memorable games I've played for any length of time, and most are older games. Let's see now:
NES
Final Fantasy 1 (US)
Metroid
SNES
F-Zero
Final Fantasy 3 (US)
SimCity 2000
Super Mario
PC
Baldur's Gate 1 + TotSC
Baldur's Gate 2 + ToB
Diablo 1
Diablo 2 + LoD
Doom 1
Final Fantasy 7 (US)
Final Fantasy 8 (US)
Medieval 2: Total War
Neverwinter Nights 1 + SoU + HotU
Neverwinter Nights 2
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear
Rome: Total War + BE
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

All I can think of right now.

Mass Effect - hmmm. I heard of that one. Just haven't played with my X360 much. Maybe I'll have to give that one a try. Not that I don't have enough to occupy my time for the moment (first newborn baby). But I do have down time here and again, especially since I'm using 3 weeks of my vacation saved up. Baby sleeps, I play
