Here is a fun idea I came up with. Starting /wthe earliest games come up with a list of all the games you've played and completed since that time. As an option you can state what years you played them in and how long you played them for. Hopefully these will bring back some memories, feel free to comment on the games of others :"Oh yea i remember that game that was awesome!" :) . Ill start:

Star Wars Rebel Assault II - The Hidden Empire - 1997
    Red Alert - 1997-1998
Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark forces II - 1998
    Age of Empires 2 - 1999
    Mario 64 - 1997-1999
    Zelda: OoT - 1998-1999
    Donkey Kong 64 - 1999
    Banjo Kazooie - 1998-1999
    Goldeneye - 1998-1999
    Starcraft - 1999-2000
    Final Fantasy VII - 2000
    Red Alert 2 - 2000-2001
    Final Fantasy VIII - 2001
    Diablo II - 2001-2002
    Warcraft 3 - 2003-2005
    Oblivion - 2006
    Titan Quest - 2006
    Command and Conquer 3 - 2007
    The Witcher - 2007

PS: Half Life 2 isn't on here because I never got around to actually finishing it -.- , probably will over Christmas.

EDIT: If you feel like your list would be too long limit it to the games you enjoyed the most.

    Railroad Tycoon II, - 2000 - 2003; sporadically thereafter
    The Sims, 2001 - 2003
    Motorhead, 2002 - 2007
    Sim City 3000, 2002 - 2007 (sporadically)
    Civilization III, 2003 - present
    Age of Empires II, 2003 - 2005
    Port Royale, 2004 - 2005
    Age of Mythology, 2004 - 2005
    Civilization IV, 2005 - 2006
    Age of Empires III, 2005 - 2007
    Battlefield Vietnam, 2005 - 2007

Ok i editted post, if you feel your list would be too long just post the ones you enjoyed the most...but remember you have to have finished the game (i.e. I loved dungeon siege II but could never finish elite mode so its not on my list)

I don't remember dates but I can probably remember the order in which I played them:

    PC:
    Warcraft I
    Command & Conquer
    Warcraft 2
    C&C: Red Alert
    Doom
    Wolfenstein
    Duke Nukem
    Age of Empires II
    StarCraft/Brood War
    Sim City/Sim Copter/Sim Tower
    Unreal Tournament
    Half-Life
    HL: Team Fortress Classic
    Quake III: Rocket Arena
    Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
    HL: Counter Strike
    Everquest
    Call of Duty 1
    Battlefield 1942
    Warcraft 3
    Earth and Beyond
    Final Fantasy XI
    Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
    WH40K: Winter Assault
    Half-Life 2
    WH40K: Dark Crusade
    Company of Heroes
    Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
    Crysis (Unfinished)
Eve Online (Trial but going to pay to play)

I'm sure there are gaps but that is a pretty fair assessment of my PC progression though I did miss a few retro moments where I would drop the newest stuff and play old games for a few months. My console history is much more sparse:

    GameBoy:
    Tetris
    Zelda: Link's Awakening
Final Fantasy (something, can't remember which)

    Playstation:
    Armored Core
    Final Fantasy VII
    Legends of Legaia
    Legend of Dragoon
    Final Fantasy Tactics

    Playstation 2:
    Final Fantasy X

    Gamecube:
    Mario Kart 64
    Super Smash Brothers: Melee
    Zelda: Ocarina of Time

    XBox:
Halo 1 (Played with my brother and that's about it)

    XBox 360:
Halo 3 (Again with brother, beat the campaign in the blink of an eye, I was not impressed)

Now I must go switch my skill training because EveMon is yelling at me.

I've done this before, but can't remember where. Maybe I should keep a list on my PC for future reference. This is always fun to reminice (sp?). I didn't start PC games until 1990, but played Amiga and consoles prior to that. Here's mine in no particular order.

    Atari 2600:
    - Adventure
    - Pac-Man

    Intellivision:
    - Dungeons and Dragons

    Amiga:
    - Civilization
    - Lemmings
    - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (text adventure)
    - Some game I can't remember name: 3D driving/shooting where you faced off against bad guys and had bouncing pads - sounds dumb but lots of fun

    PC:
    - MechWarrior 2
    - Descent 2 (with Monster 3D card)
    - Warcraft
    - Starcraft
    - All Jane's Flight Sims: USNF, USAF, Longbow, Longbow 2, F-15, F/A-18
    - Falcon 4
    - European Air War
    - Unreal Tournament
    - Quake 3 Arena
    - C&C Generals
    - Half-Life
    - Call of Duty 2
    - Age of Empires II / III
    - Doom 3 (never been so scared s***less in my life - lol)
    - Oblivion
    - Battlefield 2 (longtime stay for now)
    - Crysis (so far so good!)

I'm sure there's more but that's all I've got on mind for now!

No way I can give a complete list, I would start with Pong! :D

If I would list some of the most important games for me I would talk about:

    F19 Stealth Fighter (Commodore 64)
SubLogic Flight Simulator (PC). Yeah, before Microsoft. Those games hooked me to flight sims to this day.

I've beem a member of a virtual fighter squadron in the online sim Warbirds since 1997, aproximately, so Warbirds must be cited, although today is a rather obsolete flight sim.

Diablo II almost transformed me into a video vegetable. :)

Longbow 2 was the sim I played that felt most realistic to me of all others. I really wish there was a Longbow 3 in production.

I dread to think how long the list would be if I listed every computer game I ever played. I started on a B&W TV games machine, then Atari 2600, ZX81, Acorn Electron, BBC Model B, ColecoVision (with laser disk), Toshiba MSX, C64, Sinclair Spectrum, BBC Master, Archimedes, Amiga, Atari ST, various flavours of PC starting with 386 SX, SNES, PS One.

To be honest I've not had the oh my god my brain is going to melt this is so amazing feeling since I played Dragons Lair on the ColecoVision for the first time. But I guess age might have a big part to play in that!

    I hear you sasanac.

I feel the same to some extent. There's hasn't been a lot of "wow, holy s*** this game is so amazing I'm gonna explode". Descent 2 with a Monster 3D card floored me the first time though. I remember thinking 3D gaming was just a big "gimmick"

I have to agree. I've played so many hundreds of games over the last decade and a half, it is hard to create an actual list. It has been quite a long while since I have had one of those blow your mind moments, although today when I started playing through Mass Effect, I had something quite close. I read the book prior, but it isn't necessary for the game. I have to say, the first 3 hours of playing with this game brought me all the way back to the excitement I felt playing the very first Age of Empires. It really took about 7 years of gaming before I had that oh wow and I find it odd that it was with AoE, but guess you can't pick and choose your first moment, heh.

Mass Effect - hmmm. I heard of that one. Just haven't played with my X360 much. Maybe I'll have to give that one a try. Not that I don't have enough to occupy my time for the moment (first newborn baby). But I do have down time here and again, especially since I'm using 3 weeks of my vacation saved up. Baby sleeps, I play ;)

    Madden 08
Skate (Beats the crap out of Tony Hawk games)
