Im new to the pc game scene and I was just wondering which future games coming out in the next month or two will be worth buying? What games are people currently playing the most?
-
Are there any particular games that you've played in the past that stick out as enjoyable to you?
-
The only game I've ever played on the PC is battelfield 2 with low settings and extremly bad framerates as my pc was awful, but now im getting a new laptop with a 7900 gs so i want to play new games on high settings.
I have oblivion on the xbox 360, would it be worth buying the pc version and modding it out and are there any expansions available?
I like any war games like call of duty 2, i like strategy, RPG's, mmorpg, so actually i like every genre of games. I've tried searching the internet for news on upcoming games but i havent found many games that stand out. Which future games are people looking to buy? -
Sounds like you would like Oblivion as something to play now. I duno whats comming up anytime soon, although I think NeverWinter Nights 2 just came out not too long ago also.
-
Medieval II: Total War just came out and looks really nice. It's an RTS.
Are you only looking for new and upcoming games or anything that's good and worth playing?
Spore sounds pretty interesting to me, but it's not going to be out until next summer. -
Im mostly looking for new games but anything that came out in the past year would be good too. I want a few games that will really push the 7900 gs graphics and something thats really enjoyable to play. Im going to take a look at spore and the new Total war. What do people think of the alan wake game?
http://www.alanwake.com/
Thanks -
Alan Wake really looks cool. I havent heard of this game till now.
Incidentally, you might want to take a look at Crysis, a new graphics intensive game. -
I'll take a look at Crysis. Yeah Alan Wake looks really good, I cant find any hardware specs for it and I've watched one video in which the person demonstarting said it was using a quad core to calculate the physics! The physics in the game look amazing. The next generation of games look amazing.
Anyone know more on alan wake? -
haha!! is it me or does this whole thing look like advertising?
"anybody heard about new and exciting games coming out soon?"
then
"oh, by the way, anyone see that Alan Wake game or know about it?"
anyway, I enjoy World of Warcraft, but maybe that's not your style. Company of Heroes is a war type game, but it plays more like Starcraft if you know that one. It's not a shooter, it's more command and conquer. You need to capture territory, build your army, upgrade weapons and your people. Fun game!
Far Cry is a very good and very good looking game. Not so old, still very good, open environment, great gameplay.
Call of Juarez is a Grant theft Auto clone. Well that's what it looks like to me. Also very open with main objectives to complete and tons of side quests.
Looks up ebgames and search the web for the new releases, there's tons! -
I've really gotten into Mount & Blade from http://www.taleworlds.com . I'm not sure how graphic intensive it really is, but it doesn't run properly on my old laptop with integrated graphics, nor on my OLD desktop with the VooDoo3 3000 card in it (but, almost). My Quadro FX 1500M runs it fine though, all settings enabled.
It's a good mix between twitch and strategy. You've got to raise an army and conquer, but also you've got to be a hero on the battlefield. If you're an archer, you have to aim your bow and compensate for momentum, elevation, etc. If you use a melee weapon, you have to get close enough to do damage, but not so close that you can't swing. You also have to manually block using your weapon or a shield.
I've only played it a little over a week, but it's really fun. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the prelude to how Darkfall Online will turn out (and I hear that actually will be a graphic intensive game), if and when it does come out in the future. -
Brilliant game in any case
Dawn of War is a must if you want multiplayer strategy, and Company of Hero is just **** fun if you're after "regular" RTS games. -
I would recommend World of Warcraft with the new expansion Burning Crusade(even though you won't need a 7900gs to run it at high settings)
-
Company of Heroes (WWII RTS - retailing now)
Battlefield 2142 (Futuristic FPS - retailing now) -
Thanks for all the suggested games im going to check them out, Im thinking of getting world of warcraft im just not to keen on the monthly bills as im a university student. Are there any good free online games like world of warcraft and how good are these games. -
I checked out Mount & Blade and it looks great, yeah the graphics look a bit dated but the gameplay looks amazing. Is it still at beta version or can you buy the full release? Has anyone else played this game?

If you like realistic shooters, Rainbow Six: Vegas has been getting good reviews. I've always enjoyed the R6 franchise myself although it can be too hard-core realistic sometimes.
Also S.T.A.L.K.E.R. should be coming out soon, the fps set in Chernobyl...looks like it could be good.
Finally, it's going to be awhile longer (I think Q3 2007?) but Half-Life Episode 2 along with Portal and Team Fortress 2 will definitely be making a big splash when they land. Portal looks like it might cause your eyes to spin around so fast they fall out of your head (watch the killer demos) and TF2 will be cool at least for the fact that we'll finally be able to get our hands on a piece of vaporware that was considered to have evaporated after like ten years of development. -
How about Hellgate London? Isn't that a highly anticipated title?
