Hi all just a heads up to let you know that as of right now, through the Games for Windows live application, you can download Age of Empires III for $ 0.10. Hope this helps. If this was posted before, my apologies.
Edit: If a mod would be so kind and change the title to age of empires III, not the original one. Also forgot to mention that this may be an error on Microsoft's part, so if you love strategy games, get to downloading!![]()

Yea I saw that too, I was wondering if the game is any good. I'm really not a big fan of strategy games, but for $.10 why not?

Does anyone knows how to send gifts on gfwl or is it not possible?
-
I played this game before but did not have expansions. This game has all expansions included! It is the BEST deal ever! for 10 cents!
PS: Promotion ends today at 10 pm Pacific time!!!! http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/dailydeal/day7/ -
-
On a side note, check out the game Tinker, its a gfwl exclusive and its FREE! Just a fun little puzzle game. -
Holy smokes! what were the prices for the other games!
-
I bought it, but now it says "Can't install item". ???
-
Just saw this deal on another forum and was about to post it here but Bubba beat me to it. I remembered enjoying AoE1 back in the day and for .10, this one's a no-brainer! If the servers are still up, we should get some games going sometime!

Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
For 10 cents, even I'm in on the RTS genre now. Through the GFWL marketplace app, currently d/ling AoE III: Complete Collection.
Can't go wrong I figure, unless it won't install (cough) htwingnut (cough)

As far as I remember, AOEIII will not work in Windows 7 X64.
Edit: There are mixed reports about this, some say it works fine, others say it works partially or crashes. Any one play it on Windows 7 X64?
I just purchased it for 10 points (10 pence) in the UK. -
But would that prevent it from even downloading? I'm getting this error when I go to download:
Install of item failed. If retry fails, delete the item and re-download.
Code: 80070002 -
Just an FYI, this thing contains the 2 expansion sets too
-
FYI. Just got it to work finally. Downloading (woot!) I have the original on DVD, but this is better.
Anyone know if there are limited activations or anything? -
-
Man you guys get all the good offers
-
-
Thanks OP bought it today for 10 XBL marketplace points. I take it this is just like Steam where it doesn't matter where you install it on or how many times as you sign in to play the game?

GFWL is down in every other language then english i have to switch the laguage to buy and now that i did for me it's refusing to switch for my GF
-
Yep works fine here on Win7x64..
I own the originals but for 10 cents it was the obvious no brainer to not having to go digging for my discs .. -
-
Wow, amazing. I loved playing this game before, plus I can get it with 10 ms points, awesome, don't have to use a credit card for a 10 cent purchase.
-
I bought this, and at the checkpoint noticed Fable TLC for $9 and added that to my cart thinking what a great bargin to great games I missed while I took a break from gaming..................with out even stopping to wonder..'
Can you play these games when your not connected to the internet?
And Curisoly how does AOE scale? 1 core, 2 core, 3 core etc? -
No, you do not need to be connected to the net to play, at least I started the game and tried part of the single player campaign without it and it ran fine. Also, I believe Age of Empires 3 only has dual-core support. Should't be a problem though considering it is a 2005 original release, expansions came about a year apart afterwards with no real game engine changes.

Bought this earlier for the princely sum of 10 microsoft live points
bargain of the week. -
Is there a Paypal option? I couldn't find one.
-
-
1) Credit Card/Debit Card
2) Xbox Live Marketplace Points
And you need a Gamertag account or you can create one. -
Not sure if I'll ever get time to play it - but for 10 MS points it is hard to say no.

-
sweet!
Thanks! -

Haha I was about to make a new thread titled OMG AOEIII FOR 10 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but then saw this one on the front page, fortunately.
-
I played 20 minutes or so fine on my x64 based system noted below on max settings at 2048 * 1052 and was very smooth.
-
y can't i use paypal on their site..
-
Just used an older gift card with a little bit on it to purchase this, great use of a card I would otherwise throw out!
-
-
I'm more concerned about the 3gb it's gonna take up on my SSD than the 10 cents I spent using a pretty much done gift card. Haha.
It's a good way to buy the game, especially for those people who aren't sure on giving out card information, even though it is Microsoft. -
Decided to just buy it, but now I can't install it due to a lack of a serial key. Was the serial supposed to come in an e-mail because I click on "View Game Keys" in GFWL and it just says no key assigned.
-
just found a gift card with $1.50 cents on it
Hopefully they'll have more 10cents games so that i can buy 14 more games
I just realized I don't have the keys too.. So i didn't even bother downloading it yet. Do you need the keys to install it?

Age of Empires 3 - No key assigned - Games for Windows Live
"Due to the overwhelming success of the Age of Empires III sale, we have temporarily run out of keys to unlock the game. You can still buy the game at this amazing price and you will get/see a key in the next week. When new keys are added to the system you will be auto-assigned a key, there is no need to call support or take any other action from your end. We will post here on the forums when the keys are available and the next time you click 'View Game Keys' for the game you should be assigned one."
About 10 posts down for anyone who is interested -
Wow. I think ten cents is a good price point for games. lol
-
Apparently. I just wish I could play the dang game.
-
-
No prob. I can't say I'm not disappointed though with them running out of keys.
-
Yea, I was in for one but no keys :/
-
Well, hard to complain for a game for a dime. You could do a lot worse. I can't imagine it will take more than 24 hours to fix it. It is Microsoft selling their own game they published. If they can't produce keys rather quickly, then somethings wrong.
GFWL currently selling Age of Empires III for $.10
