Well I've been doing alotta searching around for a laptop that I can run wow on. The thing is laptop graphics cards aren't supported by WoW so I wanna be careful in choosing the right one that can run the game well.

My PC card is a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200, any laptop card that is at this cards level or higher that will run the game will be fine.

laptop graphics cards aren't supported by WoW? says who? and since when do games support video cards? they just support direct 3d.

I think on any laptop you buy today, you can play wow on. Even an intel 950 with settings on low plays WoW I belive.

^ I posted videocards to play WoW nice and smooth.

But yes, dont worry, any decent ATI or Nvidia videocard can play WoW fine on a laptop.

I think what he meant was that developers don't officially support mobile versions of desktop chips regarding tech support and trouble shooting. I don't think any game does though, so its not exactly a problem, ignore it.

My opinion? Never listen to the system requirements.

If you goto www.worldofwarcraft.com and check the supported chipsets it will list the "Intel Extreme 2" and the GMA900.

I can tell you that neither of these card will play the game very well even at 800x600. If you check the forums there, the games runs slower on lower level hardware now then it did when it first came out.

The ATI 200m will BARELY run it. You really need a card that will run at least 1024x768. 800x600 is simply too small. The video cards noted above will play it fine. I would NOT bother running it with a GMA950.

    Will the Go 6100 do?

I just wanna know if the Go 6100 will run it w/o the crash errors which is all that I'm fearing cause if it can run at the same performance has the 5200 or better I'll be fine with that.

Let's just say it will run WoW better than the GMA950... about on par with the ATI 200m. Both are integrated chipsets.

If you're planning on gaming, even if it's only WoW, your better off looking at least an entry level dedicated GPU like the X1400/go7400.

    Agreed.

If you plan on getting seriously into the game, the performance will be a bif issue. The later stages of the game like Molten Core, are much more intensive than simply running around outside. You will regret it if you don't get a dedicated card. Shoot for something that gets over 1200 on 3dmark05.
