Something is wrong here -- the 8700M GT SLI should outclass a Go 7900 GS. Take a look at this thread for a list of cards in order of power: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=39568 . The GPU is probably not replaceable, but you should not need to replace yours if you get it to work properly. Are the drivers up to date and everything?

    Try these:
-Make sure the laptop`s power scheme is ALWAYS On ,if you have XP, or High Performance in Vista.
-Get the latest laptopvideo2go.com drivers from here : http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=88 Now, don`t forget to ALSO download the modded inf next to the Download driver link.
Run the exe, extract the driver to a folder, and then overwrite the modded inf in that folder, and then :
    -download driver sweeper
    -Uninstall previous driver
-reboot into safe mode (should be F8 pressed repeatedly right after the Dell screen)
-use Driver Sweeper to remove the older driver ( click on NVIDIA DISPLAY, then on the > sign , then on the broom (run sweeper) icon
    -install new driver,
    -reboot.

    That takes care of that.
If you want to make sure you have the most out of the GPUs you can also OC, but we`ll leave that for another time.
Remember, the 8700GTs have 128 bit buses,so 1920x1200 is really hard on the cards, even in SLI.
Try a lower one, like 1440x900 or 1680x1050 and they will shine for sure.

Yeah do that and be sure to not be on power saver. If it still doesn't work, time to RMA I guess

Even if they have a 128bit bus, 2 8700M GT will perform better than 1 Go 7900GS. GTA SA in 1920x1200 shouldn't be too hard for 2 8700. Both the 8800M GTS & GTX have lower memory bandwidth than the Go 7950GTX :p

    Hi

I think there was something wrong with the AC adapter. Even though it was well seated, it was not detected correctly for 2 or 3 startups. I did the diagnostics and it is OK though. Also, the new drivers have been installed. I now get 153 on the same benchmark and run GTA San Andreas smoothly with everything maxed out at 1920x1200, including anti-aliasing and max viewing distance.

    Pheww....

Yup,the power is what makes all the difference.
I maxed out GTA SA on my GTX at over 40fps at all times.
    1920x1200 , 3 times AA, max distance.

Would the laptopvideo2go drivers really outperform the official Dell ones?

    OH YEAH. :D
What you need to do is PM Magnus72 and ask him what drivers he`s using, he likes to get the best out of his system.

Of the 174.xx series, 174.74 gave me a 100 point boost in 3dMark06, but about 70 of that was CPU score. Runs a bit hotter but they work great. :D
