    GOG.com

Great games for cheap. And the best part? NO DRM. :)

I bit fail for me. I thought it was for all games :D.
I would still buy something, but why did they only put one Runaway game in the list?

I would have probably bitten on the deal if Runaway 2 were on the list. I can't get the Steam version to work (multiple installation attempts) and can't find any support for getting it running. Unfortunately, as often happens, most of the compelling deals are games I already have (Sam and Max x2, Alan Wake x2, The Witcher, Runaway 3, a few others...). I tried selecting five games anyway, even selecting The Witcher among them because I don't have it from GOG and I knew I would need filler to choose five, but I was already tapped out after selecting two more games.

The same thing happened the last time they had a deal like this. I selected Botanicula and Machinarium, which I already had, and still couldn't figure out how to fill out a five game bundle. Unless I start playing some other old series, like the Tex Murphy games, GOG's pretty much tapped out for me right now. Considering how many adventure games I have on the docket before I need to buy anything new, that's probably not gonna happen.

Incidentally, I didn't know you were an adventure gamer, killkenny1.

Not really, but Runaway series really struck me. Played the first and the third one, had enormous fun too. I haven't played Runaway 2 for the exact same reasons as yours. But eventually I'll buy it from GOG and maybe pick their other games, be it GOG/Steam/etc. Other adventure which I liked was Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Sometimes I like to play such games.

I grew up on King's Quest, Space Quest, Monkey Island... I played the first Runaway but haven't played the second because it doesn't work, and haven't moved to the third because I want to play them in order. I wasn't really all that impressed by Runaway - many of the puzzles were unnecessarily tedious and the writing was beyond hackneyed, but then that's kind've the problem with the entire genre. I got all of the Pendulo games (pre-Yesterday, which sounds kind've cool), on a Steam sale a couple years ago, but the first Runaway is still the only one I've played.
