    Hi,

    I have a GeForce 9500m GS (512) GPU.
Afther playing for about 20 minutes, i noticed my fans spinning harder and louder.
I stopped wow, checked SpeedFan and my temperatures were extremely high. (see title)
Is there any way how i could decrease this heat by adjusting the video options in-game?

    btw: i dont overclock..

    thx

    What laptop do you have?
The 9500M GS is a rename of the 8600M GT which is a card known to have problems.

    Acer Aspire 5920G

    If you need specs:

    Cpu: Intel Centrino: T7500 Dual Core ~ 2.2Ghz ...
(Cpu runs at 50°C idle and can go up to 90°C when stressed!)
    GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9500m GS.
    4 gigs ram.
    300gb HDD.

Is this a recent occurrence or has this always been this way? First thing to try is to dust out the vents with some canned air - dust can cause some serious overheating.

Lowered resolution & details I guess are in-game solutions. Check the heatsink. Maybe it isn't conducting heat properly or the material around the GPU is not that effective in sucking heat away. Applying Arctic Silver 5 is a solution for this. Or an update of Nvidia drivers is needed.

First check your vents, as Hep! said
This is usually the main culprit that causes high temps

Also make sure it is on a flat surface when gaming and that the vents are blocked.

If cleaning doesn't help reduce your temps, then it may be that the card is defective, again as Hep mentioned ;)

Those temperatures are not normal at all.

90C on a CPU is NOT safe, like what Hep said, clean out your vents and fans.

can you download HW Tune and HD Tune and post a picture with the results to give us a better idea of all the readings.

as posted above a cleanout of the fans is a good start.

90C for a 8600M GT is not safe, but it's far from being abnormal. It's just the average if you take all laptops.
