Might be the wrong section, I apologize.

I own a Toshiba Satellite p105-s9312 which I have had for quite a long time. My problem is I noticed that my GPU temps at idle were in the 68-75*c range so I used compressed air to clean the fans. That worked decently and lowered it a bit, and during that I noticed a LOT of dust come out. I decided to take the laptop apart which I had done many times and clean out the GPU and apply new thermal paste.

Tear down and put back together and boot up all went smooth just as I had done 5 times before...now to the problem...

On boot up the GPU fan is running, you can hear it and feel it, but after boot up no fan. GPU temps immediatly jump to 89-95* and even up to 100*+ if I were to allow it, as you can watch it just climb.

The fan wont kick on at all...Im at a complete loss. I have tried Toshiba support (take it in to get it worked on), but the laptop isnt worth the price of the servise...even though before this it did everything I needed it to do just fine.

Bottom line, clif notes if you will...GPU fan wont kick on, worked fine before tear down, runs during boot up...no ideas.

    HELP! :(

where you letting the fan spin as you were blowing the compressed air? You can damage the fan if you let it spin too fast.

I did let the fan free spin, but it wasnt at any high rate of speed. With the fan working during boot up I wouldnt assume that to be the issue.
