I was just looking at the temps on my notebook and the HDD stays at around 45 idle and 53 when in use for quite a while. CPU temps seem to be good to at around 44 idle and up to 63 when having CPU maxed out for a while (two instances of super pi)
When gaming for a while the CPU hit a max of 72 and the hdd around 52. So know I am just wondering what the temp is for the GPU. Speedfan does show temp1 which when idling stays at around 54. Could that be the GPU? Or is that the mobo? And do these temps sound normal for a notebook? Specs in my sig

    Thanks and Merry Christmas!!

Mine is usually around 55 (no OC). It sometimes gets close to 60 (but it has never gone over) because I usually play games before I sleep and I put the laptop on the bed.

but do you think that the temp 1 is the GPU temps?

    Thanks

What program are you using to monitor the temp?

    Those temps sound normal.

Low GPU temperatures are said to be 'inaccurate'. I don't know if I buy it or not to be honest - so I just add 10 - 20 degrees to the reading to be safe.

My GPU is usually from 40 - 65 (minimum without adding and maximum with adding 20). Sounds like good temps to me :D

When you're machines starts throwing 80's - 90's at you, worry.. lol

My CPU is sometimes 37 - 65. Without my cooling pad it'll go to 72 in games like UT3/COD4

My CPU is around 40's, rarely hitting the low 50's when doing 'normal' stuff. GPU stays at low 40's.

When gaming, my CPU hits a max of 68. GPU is around high 50's and low 60's, max was 64.

My HDD doesn't get too hot. It's 37 now. Max it ever hit was 44.

I use a bunch of different programs. NHC, i8kfanGUI, and ofc RivaTuner when gaming. Usually there's only around a degree or two of difference; oftentimes they show the same temps.

Yeah, listen to what those guys said, I've never used Speedfan so don't know much about how it displays temps and such.

I have a similar model as you and the "temp 1" reading is not the GPU, haven't found exactly where it is measuring yet, possibly the mobo or RAM.

Also make sure you are using the latest beta of Speedfan as it fixes incorrect temp readings of Core CPUs ( http://www.almico.com/sfbetaprogram.php ).
