I have an Asus N80Vn-X1, it comes with Vista Premium 32bit but seeing as how it also has 4GB of ram I moved on to Vista 64bit Ultimate. After doing this I have one issue, unless I'm plugged into the AC adapter my GPU refuses to clock above 160mhz/100mhz, which is quite a problem because that is the difference between 10fps and 50fps in game. I've tried the latest official nvidia drivers and laptop2go drivers however both wont allow me to game on the battery.

Does anyone know what else could cause this and how I can fix it?

Did you make sure your system was running using the High Performance power profile? It seems that powermizer is bringing your GPU down on battery, so technically setting your power options to High Performance should help. Otherwise, it is possible your battery is failing and can't output enough power to satisfy your GPU.

Yes it is running on high performance, and I'm fairly certain it is some sort of software issue cause by switching Operating Systems.

Are you using NVIDIA? Maybe try disabling PowerMizer?

So does that mean PowerMizer is supposed to lock your GPU into worthless mode unless you're on AC? But I could game on battery fine prior to installing Vista 64Bit. Why can't it just throttle back up when going into 3D mode on battery.

Powermizer switch didn't completley work, instead of clocking me down to 160/100 now it keeps me at 400/400 on the battery when my clocks are 550/400.

check the advanced settings in the power options. set cpu is set to minimum 100% (same as plugged in). basicly set everything in there personally.

Forcing CPU to 100% didn't change my GPU clocks.

Instead of setting PerfLevelSrc to 3322 change it to 2222.
