Is there a way to make an ATi GPU "help out" an Intel CPU in terms of processing?

    Intel T9800 (2.93 GHz, 6 MB L2, 1066 MHz FSB)
ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4670 (675 MHz, 675 MHz, 800 MHz)

And is this a good idea in terms of heat and battery life for a laptop??

There is DXVA for video acceleration (usually the CPU does all the processing for decoding video). lol That's all I'm aware of.

From what I searched, DXVA seems to be preloaded into Vista/7, is that true? So is there no download required?

I've heard that as well. One of the codecs in W7 has it.

Media Player Classic Homecinema has it as well.

But I don't tend to use DXVA because my CPU idles at 40C and my GPU at 60, so I'd rather use my CPU so that CPU=~50C and GPU=60C.

I use GOM Player and I don't know how to check if DXVA is enabled. Can you help?

Sorry.. I've only ever used DXVA in MPC HC (the codec is built in, no installer).
