i have an integrated nvidia 7150m and will playing a few game it'll start underclocking itself when it gets to about 80c which is about 20c under it's thresh hold. all i have to do is flip it over and let it get all the air it can get for a minute and i'm off playing it again for 15 minutes until it underclocks again. while playing the fan isn't even on full blast. i plan on getting L4D and play it online and it will be bad if i start lagging. is there a way to stop the gpu from underclocking?

Prop it up with a book, find a program that lets you set the fan to 100% during gaming, and if that doesn't work, get a notebook cooler.

well, if you cant afford even the cheapest cooler (~15bucks) then here is what you can do
    -clean the dust vents
-lift the back of the notebook to get air circulations
-always kick fans to max, I'm sure there are programs that can do that (the one am using is dell specific)
-try out different drivers till you find one that runs cooler

-then again how hard is it to just get a 15 dollar cooler, it is effective, trust me

If it's always hot then maybe it's a vent problem...

Not always. Sometimes the cooling is already flawed from the get go... Like on my previous laptop(what a piece of crap).
