Its out in 2 hours actually. A bugged version came out this morning but its been fixed. Tony, I heard braking is very unrealistic, like the cars break on a dime with very little regard to speed and such.

Forget braking, everything is fairly unrealistic; physics, steering, damage etc. A very good looking game though. It's still fun in its own way, very fast paced, but it's not a "real" racing sim at all........Like calling Ace Combat a flight-sim.

Down criticise it just yet, the PC version might be better.
I plan to buy it if it lives up to expectations.

Im getting it from the third because its give me way better speeds then the other mirrors are flooded with people. Why is it finishing when its not done?

I've never been a big fan of Codemasters games. I played Jericho and Overlord and hated them. Also heard Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was bad too. Hopefully this one is different.

Definitely. THough I missing my schools network. Would download at 6 MBs if the server would allow it. Back at home a measley 95 KB. Ill be done in like 2 hours. We will definitely race together online ele.

Someone is gonna get smoked... :)

Thanks for the love storm. I would rep you but it says need to rep others first. I've been waiting this one for a while. Plunked down for the pre-order already.

Link, yeah their other titles aren't great but their racers are usually top notch. (they just acquired the f1 license, stole it from sony :)) Dirt wasn't amazing but it was good but their toca series was incredible. So far I'm getting mixed signals from the demo people, most complain its too arcadey. I wanted that nice balance. But the people that have positive feelings , love it. I'll see in 2 hours.

no good :S those are below 10kbs for me and btw guys, on my SLI 7950GTXs DIRT ran on 1400x900 mostly everything on high without a hitch, so probably GRID is gonna run better since it has less particles

Should run alot better than that. It was notoriously poorly optimized for the pc. Since they essentially built the brand new ego engine, and codemasters got bashed for the bad port last time, I'm sure they did a much better job.

The game looks absolutely beautiful, but the handling kinda sucks arse.
I`m guessing since it`s the beginning of the game and I have not Pro brakes and such.
It look and plays nice :D

Well not really unless you love this game or racing games. Good ones can cost quite a lot. I have the g25 which is a dream and considered one of the best on the market. Got it for 150 at a great bargain since its selling for 250-300. There are cheaper ones though, but you'll have to do some research to see whats good for your budget.

What settings and what fps? 1.5 hours away.

    + Rep for the screenies.

Forerunner, how is it on your G25/PC? I've only played the PS3 demo of Grid w the dual shock controller and am not impressed by that version/combination at all. Way too arcade-ish with wonky physics, cars seem light + yet don't seem to transfer any weight when turning, and drifting isn't implemented via a predictable system, more of a "special power" feature......could probably be called Burnout: Grid.

Is the PC version more "sim" like?

    Agreed about the Logitech G25, it's a great wheel---everything else is so.....plastic (after trying a friends, I ordered a G25 myself)

Its playing great. I am trying to get the right graphic settings down. With my overclocked 8600 I can play at 1280 x 1024 with everything max except shadows and particles on med with an average of 25-26 fps. Just installed 10 minutes ago. I'll get back to you. Love the visuals though.

    Yea, it looks awesome.
But handling is utter crap so far.
I swear,I`ve never seen a more unrealistic skid when accelerating WITH traction control AND stability control.
I`d hate to image how the car goes without them.
TIP : NEVER EVER accelerate and try a curve,ONLY accelerate in a straight line, otherwise you`re gone.
I`ve finally managed to win the first race...pff, but it was frustrating as hell.

THis game is crazy with shadows. Turning the shadows up has a huge blow to fps. While changing all of the other options to high from med or vice versa barely does 1-2 fps hit on it. Its crazy!!

Nops, 7950GTX is a great card why you say that...

I´m runing it at 1680x1050(my native ress), all maxed, 2xAF. Quite light, that 30FPS avrg feel like 50FPS... very smooth...

The 7950GTX will be better at higher ress...

BTW, that rear lights are exaggerated... they are not that huge on the real car...

Same settings as audigy, only shadows low on 1680 x 1050 gives me a nice 28 fps average. Yeah its a fun game but way too arcadey. Some of the things I pulled off in the game are damn near impossible. The AI is decent though and I like how if you bump them, they try to get you back. It has a nice sense of speed. Its a decent game but not as good as I had hoped.

The graphics look very nice and I really like the cool replay after the race. I didn't like the handling too much but at least it's a bit better than the handling in DiRT imo. I still couldn't figure out how to drift properly...>_<

Anyway, I'm running it at max settings (all high and ultra) at 1680x1050 with 2xMSAA with about 38-50fps. :)
