After running benchmarks, I can actually confirm that the 555m's report on notebookcheck is accurate. EDIT-----People have been asking how I am getting those rift FPSes. I forgot to mention that I have ambient occlusion off. ALSO, Rift pimp slapped my GPU. Apparently it is much more GPU intensive once you leave the starting area....

Is Sager also using 1.5GB GDDR3 VRAM?

No, they are using the 2GB DDR3 version with a 128bit memory bus. It score remarkably similar to the 1.5GB 192bit version.

Interesting. That means the GPU hardware itself must be limited and can't truly take advantage of the wider bus.

Either that or 3DMark is not bandwidth constrained at 1280x1024.

Note, the following fps scores are with AA off. To me it is too much of a memory hog and the difference is hardly noticable at FHD. Starcraft 2 at FHD with every single setting except shadows at max pulls 30-35fps as terran. I will be trying different settings and factions soon. In rift with the standard ultra or very high settings I pulled 40 FPS but with a little tinkering with the shadows and lighting I got 60. I will be trying other games soon.

Can't believe they're putting this into the new GX780.

The 5870 in my GX740 has more than twice its GPU score...

But with a 900p screen this isn't possible without an external monitor.

Ah, right, don't know how i missed that :p, maybe if we could get both to run @ 1280x800 or some res like that.

Can you tell me what your doing to get those FPS's in rift?

I have a 5165 with a similar setup and when i switch it from low to even medium it goes from 40-50fps down to 14-18fps.

Even if i drop my resolution down to 1360x768 it still does that.

I run it with nvidia and i also choose rift.exe in the nvidia control panel.

Meh in vantage this can't even beat my card downclocked to 725/800 (from 725/900).

It wont have just lost memory bandwidth, it will have less ROPs too. That's a double whammy to AA performance.
